Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chidera Divine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chidera, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve always wanted to pursue art as career before I got into college…
I’ve been an art lover since I was a child, always fascinated by colors, I painted on the walls of my home and my books with crayon and poster colors…
I got excited when I wanted to get into college, because I was about to study my dream course which was fine art.
When I got into college, I felt fulfilled and could express myself better, I excelled and became one of the best female artist in my Field..
That was when I discovered I should pursue art professionally.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Painting is something I’ve always loved and the moment I got into college I knew it was the part I want to take in choosing my career.
I’m a visual artist and a dancer, and I deal mostly on traditional paintings making use of brushes and colors on canvas.
Most at times, the kind of works I produce on my canvas evokes self reflection, hope, and peace, and this may help my viewers mentally by giving them a reason to believe, to keep standing, to keep up the faith.
I also help my client aesthetically, you know painting gives an unusual aura in the home on any place at all, you just can’t stop staring.
I’m proud of standing out, from where I come from, you rarely see a female artist who is also a dancer, and I’m truly proud of how I can influence the people around me positively even through dance. The enthusiasm of the students I teach, the laughter and smile I put on their faces through dance and how we are able to captivate our audience with our expression when we dance is everything.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes,
My end goal for me right now is to become great at my field, I want to become one of the best so I can represent where I come from with honor and prestige. When you become successful, other will then follow your footsteps. A lot of people are afraid of taking up art as a career because it doesn’t seem professional to them and it doesn’t come in handy a lot at times financially.. But I wanna prove to them that passion first, I wanna encourage others to follow their dreams with resilient and diligence.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Apart from being a visual artist, I’m also a dancer, and I enjoy teaching dance to children. The excitement and zeal they have to learn when it comes to dance is almost everything for me, I think those are my best moments. The peace, happiness and love for creativity anytime I choreograph or paint are the most rewarding aspect of being an artist for me
