We were lucky to catch up with Daniele Lanzarotta recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Daniele thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I’m lucky to own a company where passion for art is the driving force. In my industry, I had seen companies take advantage of clients, so when I started my company, I vowed to put passion first. I’m personally involved with every step of the process in one way or another to ensure that my clients get their dreams turned into reality. I started out as an author first, then as a sound engineer and at times, producer – other authors are my client base. My background helps me see things from both sides of the business, really understanding the hard work authors put into their books and what a dream it is to turn those stories into audiobooks. In the process, they are putting their dreams into my hands and that takes a lot of trust. In the process, I always aim to surround myself with people who love what they are doing. If the love isn’t there, it will show in the process.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
One of my favorite words is Serendipity – and that’s the exact word that explains how I got into this industry. I have a Bachelors in Finance and MBA in Marketing. I was working a corporate job and not exactly happy with that job, when writing became an outlet. I published a few books as an indie author and that’s how I met one of my best friends today, Jocqueline Protho. She attended a book signing where I was a guest, and we connected through social media. Some time later, she started a Podcast and I ended up becoming her sound engineer. I learned a lot, and loved every minute of it. Later on, she started a production company and asked if I wanted to do sound engineer work for audiobooks. That is when I started my post-production company – Elysian Nightfall Studios. I do mostly sound editing and mastering for indie authors as well as for other companies that I love and collaborate with, but from time to time, I also take the role of producer as well.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Passion, communication, and quality are everything. Aside from passion, quality is another one of my missions. In creating audiobooks, I’m a strong believer that every single detail matters. Something as small as the way the “characters” breathe during certain scenes can impact the way the listener feels. It’s important that clients work with a company who falls in love with their work, who aims to provide them with the best of the best, and who is always open to listening to their feedback.

Any advice for managing a team?
Value your team and their work. Always. And keep communication doors open. Listen to their feedback and apply it when possible.
