We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Scott Buss a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Scott, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it, and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My mission is simple: to serve people at the highest level — no matter where they are in the world or what they need — with integrity, excellence, and purpose. That mission was born out of adversity.

In 2018–2019, I hit a personal and professional low. I lost almost everything. But in that loss, I found clarity. I realized that God had been preparing me my whole life to build something bigger than myself. With no outside funding, no PR, and no paid marketing, I started Advent Jets with a laptop, a phone, and a deep belief that if I focused on people — not just profit — everything else would follow.

Today, Advent Jets is a global concierge and aviation company. But more than that, it’s a story of resilience. I built this brand by telling the truth, showing up, and refusing to quit — even when it was uncomfortable. My mission is rooted in that journey, and I share it so others know that even in their most challenging moments, there’s purpose in the process.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Absolutely. I’m Scott Buss, Founder of Advent Jets — a global private aviation and luxury concierge company. I was born and raised in the Midwest, and those roots shaped how I do business: lead with humility, work hard, and never make promises you can’t keep.

I didn’t grow Advent Jets with investors or a marketing team. I built it myself — lean, relationship-driven, and entirely self-funded. Everything we’ve achieved came from persistence, integrity, and showing up for the people who trusted me.

The turning point? It was when I hit rock bottom. Personally and professionally, I had lost it all. But in that quiet space, I realized something profound — God had been building this business through me all along. It wasn’t just about me anymore. This was bigger. Advent Jets became my platform not only to serve but to create purpose through service. And that’s what still drives me every day.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

For sure. A few years back, I hit a personal low point, and I was away for 4 months, which made me realize that I had been building this business my whole life. I had to hit bootom to fiq that out and with the love from my mom I was able to move on in a forward and paostive way with alot of hard work and faith — personally and professionally. I had to rebuild my life with nothing but grit, a laptop, and my reputation. No safety net, no investors, just my will to push through and the network I had spent years nurturing.

There were days I didn’t know how I’d make it. But I stayed focused, stayed humble, and kept showing up. That mindset — of showing up even when it’s hard — is why Advent Jets exists today. We’ve now served clients globally, helped close aircraft sales, coordinated VIP events, and continue to grow. That didn’t come from luck. It came from persistence and staying true to

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

My reputation was earned through relationships and follow-through. I don’t just deliver — I protect people’s time, energy, and experience. Whether it’s a last-minute jet charter or coordinating high-profile events across continents, people know they can count on me.

Coming from the Midwest, I learned early that your word matters more than any pitch. I’ve never needed flashy marketing. I’ve built this brand through trust, consistency, and staying grounded in what matters: serving people well.
