We were lucky to catch up with Isabelle Pouya recently and have shared our conversation below.
Isabelle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meangingful project ive worked on is raising money for the okalwan

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was raised and born in South Bend, Indiana and I’m currently living in Chicago. I attended Columbia Chicago’s music school for one year and decided to leave after my freshman year to devote all my time to music. I’ve been singing and songwriting since I was 5 years old.
I write about different topics, like world issues and personal struggles. Both inspire me to sing as a way to express my feelings and spread awareness about them. I’ve written about different topics, such as, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health, school shootings, bullying, suicide awareness, self-confidence issues, physical and intellectual disabilities, love, and many more. I want my music to be a tool for curing, healing, and uplifting for those who are struggling from these serious issues.
I want my music to be an outlet for people to feel uplifted, understood, seen, heard, cared for, and loved. My dream is to empower individuals with my music and give back to the people who inspire my songs. I believe that it is my purpose to be here for them and give back to the people who inspire me music. I believe we are in this world together, no one should have to feel alone.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, people’s life stories and my own personal experiences are what drive my creativity and give me a purpose to pursue music. My goal is to connect with the world through my music by including others in it and writing about their lives. My audience, to me, isn’t just my supporters but my inspiration. My way of thanking them is by including their personal experiences, both good and bad, in my songs to create a personal connection.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to inspire, uplift, and change people’s lives through music. Music is such a powerful tool to communicate and speak to the world, it is a universal language, and I believe it’s important to use it in the right way—by putting meaning and depth into it to make it life-changing and heartfelt. The reward is in knowing that people can connect, feel heard, loved, understood, and experience all emotions through my music. It’s rewarding to know that my music can be more to people than just sound to the ears.
