We caught up with the brilliant and insightful AESON a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, AESON thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The biggest risk I’ve taken wasn’t giving up everything it was believeing in myself later than most.
A lot of artists begin their careers young, but for me, it took time to fully step into who I am and realize music wasn’t just something I loved it was something I had to do. I kept putting it off, thinking maybe it was too late, that I missed my shot, or I should I just focus on college. But deep down, I knew I had something special to offer a unique voice, real stories, Cinematic visuals, and a sound that didn’t follow trends, but set them.
So I stopped waiting. I stopped comparing my timeline to everyone else’s and made the choice to go all in. That was the risk not that I’d fail, but that I was starting when others might’ve said it was ‘too late.’ I invested in learning how to build my brand, and putting my art out to the world unapologetically.
Since then, everything has shifted. My music is connecting with people. I’m building a fanbase that truly gets me. I’m in rooms I used to only dream about. Starting later gave me perspective, maturity, and a strong sense of self and I think that’s what makes my journey so powerful.
The risk was waiting. The win was realizing the timing was always right because I was finally ready to give it everything.”

AESON, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I create music that blends emotion, confidence, and truth the kind that makes you feel seen, powerful, and alive. I got into music not just because I loved it, but because it was the only thing that ever made me feel fully understood. Growing up, I was always writing poetry, stories, songs but it wasn’t until later in life that I decided to take the leap and pursue music as my full-time path. That decision changed everything.
I’m part of a new wave of artists who aren’t afraid to blend vulnerability with power, style with substance. My songs talk about real things heartbreak, self-worth, ambition, identity and I make music for the ones who need a voice, a mirror, or a reminder that they’re not alone.
Beyond the music, I’m building a brand that’s rooted in expression through visuals, fashion, storytelling, and the way I engage with my fans. Whether it’s a live performance, a TikTok drop, or a lyric that hits just right, I want everything I create to make people feel something.
What sets me apart? I’m not chasing trends I’m creating timeless moments. My sound is pop, but my message is personal. I care about connection more than numbers. And I make every piece of content, every track, every visual, feel intentional.
What I’m most proud of is how I’ve built this journey authentically no shortcuts, no filters, just truth and creativity. I want people to know that Aeson isn’t just a name it’s an experience. It’s a world I’m inviting you into, and I’m just getting started.”
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was thinking I always had to ‘spare’ people keep quiet, let things slide, shrink myself to keep the peace. I used to do that a lot. But not anymore.
I used to believe that being the bigger person meant holding back, even when people disrespected me or tried to play with me. Whether it was in business, friendships, or even creatively I’d give people the benefit of the doubt way too often. I thought keeping things cool would protect my peace, but all it really did was teach people how to cross boundaries without consequences.
The turning point came when I realized that silence was being mistaken for weakness. People started to feel too comfortable testing me, undervaluing my worth, or trying to control the narrative. That’s when I made the decision: never again. I’m not here to be passive. I’m here to make impact and that starts with respecting myself first.
Now, I don’t ‘spare’ people anymore. I speak up, I move boldly, and I protect my energy at all costs. Because you teach people how to treat you and I had to unlearn the idea that protecting other people’s comfort was more important than standing on business.
That lesson changed everything in my art, my mindset, and the way I carry myself as a man and an artist.
You’ll be able to hear more in depth information on my next album “Disoriented Angel 2”.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is knowing that my music means something that it connects with real people on a real level.
When I won Best Pop Music Video at the CMVA’s in 2023, it was surreal. I was still finding my voice, still pushing through so much self-doubt. Then in 2024, to win that same award again it wasn’t just a win for me, it was a win for every person who ever felt like they were too late, too overlooked, or too different to be heard.
But honestly, what means the most to me isn’t the trophies it’s the people. My LIONZ have been everything. They’ve stuck with me, lifted me up, and pulled me out of some of the darkest, saddest moments of my life. There was a time I didn’t know if I’d even make it to the next day, let alone win anything. But their support reminded me I wasn’t alone. That I mattered. That my voice mattered.
That’s what keeps me going not the spotlight, but the connection. The way music can heal. The way it can turn pain into purpose. That’s the real reward.
