We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Denzel Alexander a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Denzel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
Denzel Alexander Creative was truly born because I wasn’t living to my potential. I was a 21-year-old college dropout living with roommates I didn’t connect with, and working a job a didn’t love. One day I came across a guy on Instagram who I thought looked like me in older form. He was cool, stylish, and people loved him for his style. I needed something to make me feel whole, like I had purpose, and honestly, a confidence booster. That’s when I started my journey into content creation, blogging then. I was always infatuated with cameras and social media, so this was the perfect journey for me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a lifestyle content creator and photographer, my goal is to inspire others to live cool, authentic lives. My personal content includes a healthy balance of style, city-living, music, and just life. Through photography, I like to capture the same energy.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I know it’s going to sound cliche, but truly being myself is how I’m still existing in this content creator space after almost 10 years. I show up as myself and create the content I want to create no matter what I think others may think. This has set me apart from other male creators, and has helped me land dozens of partnerships with a smaller following. Being authentically you is cool, and people can see when you are!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience on social media was so much easier when I started my journey as a creator. The one thing I did that I think is still important is finding community. I found other creators like myself and that I just thought were interesting and supported them along their journey. This helped create organic personal and business relationships that I still have today!
