As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello! I’m Marcus Neal Gordon, and I’m thrilled to share my story with you. As a music artist from Philadelphia, I’ve always been driven by a passion for creative expression. My journey in the music industry has been shaped by my experiences, and I’ve learned to harness my talents to inspire and uplift others.
Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible organizations, leveraging my marketing expertise to drive impact. As the Marketing Coordinator for Philly PAL, I played a key role in bringing in over $1 million in new revenue, helping the organization continue its mission to provide safe and supportive environments for youth.
Currently, as a team member at Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence, I’ve had the honor of leading the organization’s Giving Tuesday campaign, which earned us the prestigious 2025 BIGGIE Award at the BBBSA National Convention. This recognition is a testament to the power of innovative marketing and community engagement.
Through my company, MNG Studios, I provide a range of services, including music production, marketing, and creative consulting. My goal is to help artists and brands tell their stories through music and visual content. I believe that every client has a unique voice, and I work closely with them to bring their vision to life.
As a creative professional, I solve problems by thinking outside the box and finding innovative solutions. Whether it’s crafting a compelling narrative, developing a marketing strategy, or producing high-quality music, I’m dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
What sets me apart is my commitment to creating safe spaces for creatives to ignite their passions. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to express themselves authentically, and I strive to provide a supportive environment that fosters growth and creativity.
I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made with my clients and the impact that my work has had on their lives. Whether it’s helping an artist launch their career, driving revenue for a non-profit, or creating a memorable experience for a brand, I know that my work is making a difference.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
My side hustle, MNG Studios, has been a labor of love that has gradually grown into a full-time venture. As a music artist and creative professional, I’ve always been drawn to exploring new ways to express myself and help others do the same.
I started MNG Studios as a way to pursue freelance music production and marketing projects, leveraging my skills to help artists and brands tell their stories. Initially, it was a part-time endeavor, but as the demand for my services grew, so did my commitment to the business.
Some key milestones that stand out include:
– Landing an editor position on the ON TOUR show at WHYY, which gave me invaluable experience in broadcast media and content creation
– Teaching Radio Broadcast and audio technology to youth at Kenmont Kenwood Camps, where I was able to share my knowledge and inspire the next generation of creatives
– Creating Center City, Philadelphia’s number one talent variety show, PHILLY’S MOST WANTED, which ran from 2021 to 2023 and is set to make a highly anticipated return in Fall 2025
– Securing larger projects and partnerships with organizations like Philly PAL and Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence
– Receiving recognition for my work, such as the 2025 BIGGIE Award
As MNG Studios grew, I was able to scale up my operations and take on more ambitious projects. Today, I’m proud to say that my side hustle has become my full-time career, allowing me to pursue my passions and make a meaningful impact on the world.
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and look forward to continuing to grow and evolve as a creative professional.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to inspire and connect with others through my work. Whether it’s through music, storytelling, or visual art, I find joy in knowing that my creations can evoke emotions, spark conversations, and bring people together. But what truly makes it all worthwhile are the moments when artists come back to me years later, sharing how my work has had a lasting impact on their life and art.
Those moments are truly humbling. To know that my creativity and encouragement have made a difference in someone’s life is a privilege. And there’s one moment that stands out in particular – an artist shared with me that my support and encouragement literally saved his life. He was struggling with suicidal depression, and my willingness to help him see his project through to the end gave him the motivation he needed to keep going. Moments like these remind me of the power of art and creativity to touch hearts and change lives. It’s a responsibility I take seriously, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on others.
