We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Briggs Wallis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Briggs below.
Briggs, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
When I was younger I had a job as a holistic coach where I traveled to help expand the presence of integrative pharmacies that blended traditional western pharmacies with herbal and nutritional supplementation shops around the United States.
I felt passionate about the role because I believed that offering herbal medicine and natural health solutions to communities was helping to get the medicine to the people. However, much of the work we did when building the integrative pharmacies was not directly caring for people. It was mostly building a storefront.
While working one day the VP came up to me and asked me, “How can I set you up for great career with this company? You are one of our best workers.” I knew that was supposed to be a compliment, but my internal gut response was one of disappointment. I responded, “A good worker?! I want to be a knowledgeable coach that helps others to become empowered in their lives.”
That moment was a turning point in my life and changed the trajectory of my career. I realized that I needed to make intentional choices in alignment with my highest values with every step along the journey, or other people would decide my path for me instead. This guiding insight inspired me toward all the educational and professional choices I have made since then and helped me to become the Self-Actualization Coach that I am today.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My journey of moving from survival to thrival inspired me to become a Self-Actualization Coach. Along my path, I have learned how to care for my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, which has resulted in me losing 100 pounds and becoming a lighter and brighter being!
I passionately seek opportunities to help others feel like they are becoming more empowered and thriving in all aspects of their lives.
Self-actualization coaching is an essential tool to help you navigate the waves of life and reach your highest potential. Coaching sessions provide encouragement, insight, and strategies to help you reach your goals and become empowered in your life. Sessions are geared towards enhancing your strengths, addressing your challenges, uncovering clarity around where you would like to go next, and allowing more freedom, ease, joy, and connection into your life.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could do it all again, I would not change anything. My profession has been my greatest blessing. All of my professional offerings have stemmed from my own direct experience with finding my way from disempowerment to empowerment in my own life. I was my first client. I know how hard it is to feel down, defeated, and/or lost because I lived it. I am so grateful to have found my way back to vitality and it’s only because I’ve done it myself that I am able to help others along their journey.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson that I had to unlearn revolves around our society’s idea of success. I was taught that success was a linear path that was defined by career, partnership, having a family, creating wealth, and retiring early. Once I was able to redefine my idea of success to allow the inclusion of my own unique path I realized that the freedom, love, joy, health, peace, and purpose that I feel IS my definition of true success. Success is not something I need to strive for outside of myself. It’s already within me. That realization has given me so much freedom and empowerment to be my unique, authentic self.
