Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anabel Rub Peicher. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Anabel , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Teaching art to diverse people of different age groups and different social backgrounds, ranging from meals on wheels and Gilda’s Club, Atria Willowood Retirement community, persons with learning disabilities to private students online, prior to Covid ’till present.
Teaching people who have never created art and venture to try something new, they usually enjoy the process and the final product gives them great pride. They surprise themselves having created something.
At the retirement community some said the art class was the highlight of the week for them.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Born and raised in Lima Peru, relocated to South Florida in 1974.
Graduated with a degree in architecture from the Univesity of Miami yet always aspiring to create art full-time. Recycling objects has always important to me and instead of discarding items such as cork or plastic disposal eye vials, I integrate them to my art.
Working in diverse media from ceramics, collages, watercolors, assemblages, sculptures and large scale installations, the array of work and materials is boundless. The unique and diverse emphasizing textures, motion in an array of colors.
I am proud of my Social commentary using visual art as a universal means of expression. language is irrelevant.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Inspiring others to create, using any means possible, mankind can apply creativity in all aspects of our daily living, innovating what has been created before, thinking out of the box and seeing the world and facing problems with new perspectives and options. Finding solutions to existing situations, and improving our lifestyle one day at a time, adding elements of visual arts, literature, music and sensorial images to delight the senses.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Many artists discard cracked pieces, I celebrate the accidents and display the art with them. Life is about resilience, getting hurt, falling down, getting up again.
Scars offer the road map to remind us of the difficulties encountered and the resiliency of the spirit to keep striving and attaining the next milestone.
Perfection is not the goal, growth and reaching new heights in our journey is the essence of life.
