We were lucky to catch up with Makhosi Nejeser recently and have shared our conversation below.
Makhosi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
One of the most significant risks I’ve taken in my business is making the leap from selling $297 a month group coaching offers to establishing myself in the luxury category, where my private work started at $100k. For a few years, I struggled to gain significant traction because whenever I scaled more mainstream, scalable offers, I found that I had to do a lot of convincing to secure clients.
Everything changed when I had a realization from a client who experienced a massive leap in results from our work, going from $33,000 a year to $70,000 a year, being promoted twice & securing her dream role. On the surface, this transformation was incredible, but when I examined the long-term impact of the most common results for my clients, I realized that they were earning approximately $1,000,000 or more over their lifetime from just one year of our work together.
This meant not only greater levels of financial freedom for them, but they were also aligning with their purpose, changing the trajectory of their family legacy, and impacting others in ways that were hard to quantify. So, I stepped back and spent some time getting clear on who was the best fit for my work & their likely results based on my past clients. It became increasingly clear that my work is truly one-of-a-kind, creating life and business transformations that transcend typical return-on-investment (ROI) expectations.
I repackaged my work, and within two months, I had secured my first $ 56,000 client. Then, I made the leap to my first $ 100,000 client, and subsequently to $ 150,000. What surprised me most was how effortless selling at the highest end of the market was for me, and that is truly my lane!

Makhosi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Makhosi Nejeser, also known as The Royal Shaman, and I’ve created a new field I call Systematic Liberation, which helps ultra-successful individuals escape the sophisticated prisons they’ve unknowingly built around themselves.
My Unconventional Journey
My path began in what most would consider the pinnacle of success – I built a successful business in the relationship enhancement market and achieved everything I thought I wanted: luxury trips, mansion parties, designer bags, a tall, dark, and handsome husband, and a son. From the outside, I had it all. But internally, I felt like I was slowly dying. I was trapped in the golden handcuffs of my own making, performing a version of success that felt increasingly hollow.
The breakthrough came through an unexpected combination: traditional shamanic initiation and deep psychological work around what I now call “success traps.” I discovered that my spiritual crisis wasn’t a personal failing – it was the inevitable result of building achievement on foundations that weren’t authentically mine.
This led me to a startling realization: the most successful people often live in the most sophisticated prisons. They’ve optimized their lives so thoroughly around external metrics that they’ve lost touch with what actually matters to them. The very systems that created their success become the bars of their cage.
## What I Do: Systematic Liberation
I work exclusively with high-achieving executives, entrepreneurs, and institutional leaders who’ve reached significant external success but feel spiritually bankrupt. These aren’t people struggling with basic life challenges – they’re individuals with 7-8 figure net worths, running major companies, leading institutions, yet experiencing profound emptiness despite their obvious achievements.
My signature methodology, the Systematic Liberation Method, guides clients through five phases:
1. Diagnostic Phase – Using my proprietary Success Trap Assessment to identify exactly how their success systems have become their prison
2. Deconstruction Phase – Strategically dismantling limiting structures while preserving what serves them
3. Design Phase – Creating authentic alternatives that honor both their values and financial realities
4. Implementation Phase – Managing complex transitions while maintaining relationships and reputation
5. Integration Phase – Stabilizing their new identity and building sustainable systems for authentic achievement
The Problems I Solve
The executives who find me are dealing with sophisticated challenges that traditional coaching can’t address:
– Golden Handcuff Syndrome: Financially successful but feeling trapped by lifestyle inflation, stock options, and others’ expectations
– Identity Performance Gap: Living as a successful version of themselves that feels increasingly inauthentic
– Values Drift Crisis: Achieving success through systems that contradict their deepest values
– Change Paralysis: Knowing they need to transform, but unable to risk what they’ve built
– Isolation of Achievement: Success is creating distance from authentic relationships and community
These aren’t surface-level problems that can be solved with mindset work or productivity hacks. They require systematic intervention at the deepest levels of identity, values, and life/business architecture.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m creating an entirely new industry category. There’s no one else doing systematic liberation work at this level of sophistication. Most coaches work with people trying to achieve success; I work with individuals who have achieved success and discovered it’s not what they thought it would be.
My background combines elements that typically don’t exist together:
– Proven business success (7-figure entrepreneur), so I understand complex business realities
– Traditional shamanic training provides access to ancient wisdom about authentic power
– Deep psychological insight into success psychology and identity formation
– Strategic methodology that honors both spiritual transformation and practical constraints
I operate at the rare intersection of ancient wisdom and modern strategy, serving clients who need both depth and sophistication.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m proud of pioneering a field that didn’t exist before – creating systematic approaches to problems that were previously considered unsolvable. When successful people felt trapped by their success, they had nowhere to turn. Now there’s a methodology.
I’m also proud of the caliber of transformation my clients experience. These aren’t incremental improvements – they’re complete life renovations that create ripple effects across generations. When a CEO transforms their relationship with success, it impacts their family, company culture, industry influence, and legacy.
What I Want People to Know
If you’ve achieved significant external success but feel spiritually empty, you’re not broken – you’re at an evolutionary threshold. The restlessness you feel isn’t evidence of ingratitude; it’s evidence that you’ve outgrown the systems that got you here.
Most importantly, authentic freedom is possible without sacrificing what you’ve built. You don’t have to choose between success and soul satisfaction. The path forward requires sophisticated navigation, but it exists.
I work with a very specific type of person – ultra-high achievers who’ve discovered that material mastery doesn’t automatically create life satisfaction. If that’s you, then our paths crossing isn’t a coincidence. It’s recognition.
The work I do isn’t for everyone. It’s for the rare individuals who have achieved enough external success to afford the luxury of prioritizing internal alignment and who have the courage to systematically rebuild their lives around what actually matters to them.
This is systematic liberation, and it’s the future of how conscious leaders will navigate the complexity of authentic achievement in our modern world.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
The best decision I made that established me as THE Icon in my space was to build from the top-down; instead of focusing on getting a ton of low-ticket clients where I was constantly burned-out, I focused on serving the highest level client I could (while being certain I could get them a result) and normalizing major transformation.
Most of my clients are anonymous, so I never share details that could single them out when I share their results. However, the clients who have openly shared are so credible that I was able to borrow their authority. They include top leaders in manifestation, marketing, law, medicine, writing, and even celebrities.
To be clear, I’m not suggesting you try to get celebrity clientele, but rather consider who the people you want to work with admire or at least relate to and focus on serving them to the best of your ability.

Any advice for managing a team?
By far, I’ve found that team building is one of the most challenging aspects of business growth, both through my own personal experience and in my work supporting entrepreneurs in their scaling process. Your relationship with others is the biggest mirror for you to see how you need to grow and evolve to achieve the success you’re capable of.
The biggest mistake I see that damages morale with your team is micromanaging. Most often, this stems from fear: fear of making a hiring mistake, of losing money, or of failing to deliver, among other concerns. I can guarantee that at least one, if not all, of these things will happen, and that’s not only okay, but also part of the process.
If your business can only survive if everything is perfect, you need to focus not only on allowing mistakes but also on encouraging them. Your team’s morale comes from a sense of empowerment to contribute their abilities, alignment with the values and mission of your company, and a sense of evolution in the direction of their desires.
None of those things become possible when you do not create an environment where they are empowered to make mistakes and create solutions, as well as supporting them to do what you’re paying them to do in a way that works well.
