Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Weakly. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natalie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
As a kid, I was more focused on climbing trees and plotting my next candy purchase than worrying about how I looked! But my mom had other plans—she enrolled me in every etiquette class she could find, reminding me, “You never know when you’ll dine at the President’s table.” While I wasn’t exactly sold on the idea back then, her lessons about presentation and self-confidence stuck with me as I grew older.
It wasn’t until after college, in my first client-facing job, that I realized the impact my appearance had on both my confidence and how others perceived me. I began refining my personal style and noticed immediate positive changes. That’s when I saw how a polished image can influence success—something I wanted others to experience too.
What really sparked the idea was after 10 years in corporate America, I dressed a friend for a huge press event in California. She looked and felt amazing and everyone found out about it even though I hadn’t said a word. That was the first twinkling of the idea! Everything happened fast after that. I drew on skills I knew I had and didn’t feel were being fully utilized and my passion for myself and others to be better than we were yesterday, not because today we weren’t enough, but tomorrow we can be more. Three months later I launched Signature Style to help individuals and small businesses project their best selves.
Over 12 years, 300 individual clients, countless speaking engagements and more than 30 TV appearances later, I’ve honed my approach to help business professionals master their personal brand, body language, presentation, and executive presence. My goal is to show others how aligning your inner confidence with your outward appearance and presence creates a powerful personal brand that opens doors.
My background in image consulting, business, training, and personal development has allowed me to work with universities, non-profits, and Fortune 500 companies where I share practical techniques to help professionals navigate their careers and lives with intention, presence and confidence.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Listen, it’s going to sound cliché for just a moment but stick with me and you’ll see how it was a pivot that mattered. When Covid hit in 2020, my business came to a standstill. You no doubt lived it as well, but here’s how it looked in my world. I wasn’t able to shop with clients, and also what were they buying besides the comfiest loungewear? Companies weren’t in person, were requiring less, and essentially everyone was in survival mode. I saw a fellow entrepreneur on Instagram talk about sharing information for free in this season to help others and continue to keep our own skills sharp.
I wrote a course on How to Look Your Best in the Virtual Room. All about how to project presence, look great, build trust, and effectively communicate and read people when we are reduced to little boxes without the advantage of full bodies to read and interpret.
50 people attended. It was a great session and I received great feedback. And then for the rest of the year I shared the same content, this time for my growing speaker fee (it’s a business after all) and made over $20,000.
It really reframed my way of look at the world away from a scarcity mindset and more toward an abundance mindset. And it opened up virtual speaking engagement opportunities in a way I would never have considered!
As we are five years out from that moment in history and businesses are more and more moving back to a all-in-the-office-all-the-time, those same companies who had me share the Virtual Room content are now asking me back for full executive presence and leadership development coaching. It’s been such a gift to see how my speaking opportunities have expanded and I can track it back to that one summer as a major turning point!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I’ve built my reputation in this market by creating a business that’s in line with my own self, my values, and what I hope for myself as well as others. Said another way, I’m not out here trying to be something I’m not. I want to be dressed in flattering way, appropriate for any occasion, and for people to know what I’m about within seconds of meeting me. So do my clients.
I want the same for myself as I do for my clients and my clients want for themselves. Projecting our very best in every situation – tricky conversation, exciting opportunities, or everyday interactions -makes it easy for people to relate to us, work with us, and accept our influence.
I have ideas that need to be expressed and accepted. Conflicts that need to be resolved. Emotional intelligence that needs to continue growing. Stage presence that needs to continue to command as audience sizes increase. Communication skills that meet the nuances of the various personality styles we interact with on a daily basis. And so do my clients.
The best way to build trust is consistency. I’m consistent internally and externally in the values and goals of Signature Style, and clients want the same for themselves. They can trust me in the process because they know I’ve been through something similar at a similar level – and above all, I make sure we have fun and clients feel great in the process.
The word keeps spreading!
