We were lucky to catch up with ELIXIR recently and have shared our conversation below.
ELIXIR, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The moment I walked to fashion district, a few weeks into moving to LA about 8 years ago I seen this glossy faux croc grey fabric and i just knew i could bring a wicked piece to life. I saved enough money to buy my first industrial sewing machine.
No prior experience, no school, no knowledge whatsoever I went and bought that fabric then made my first bellbottom pants with a cuban shirt to go with it.
I was so proud after my first shoot I knew I had a special talent and it really taught me how much of a game this life can be. Shout out to my mentor who is a tailor and believed in me to teach me the basics after seeing my eye and hunger on bringing a garment to life. It became my peace and life.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the fashion industry as a fashion sales rep for some brands in T&A Showroom located in DTLA.
My mentors Tim and Alf put me on so much knowledge regarding the business aspect of the fashion industry while also introducing me to a new eye in the fashion world itself like fashion conventions. Forever grateful to this day it was my introduction to Los Angeles when I first moved to the city.
My discipline came from the peace I got while making my garments, it made me feel like time did not exist and the world just stopped.
My craft consists of making wearable art.
I provide custom cut and sew garments as well as styling. I give clients a look unlike no other for special projects or events.
My pieces set me apart from others since I have never seen anything like them in my life and I am truly inspired by myself.
I am most proud of pushing strong every day regardless of the hardships life may bring to leave my legacy behind
The main thing I want my potential clients and followers fans to know is that ELIXIR is LIFE.. ELIXIR is MAGIC
and We are only Growing and Glowing…
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To leave a Legacy for my Family… to Die a Legend & Live Forever….
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started making pieces for celebrities/high clientele..
I also threw big events at Mansions around Hollywood Hills and Los Angeles.
