Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Margherita & Mario Goro. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Margherita & Mario, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
In the heart of a warm kitchen that always smelled like Sunday sauce and fresh-baked bread, legacy was never written in stone — it was passed through hands dusted in flour and stories told over steaming plates.
They came from two worlds — Sicilian and Chaldean — both rich in faith, in flavor, and in family. Childhood was filled with crowded tables and louder conversations, where kids ran underfoot, grandparents stirred pots, and no one ever left hungry or unnoticed. Love was measured in servings, and pride was found in tradition.
Growing older, we didn’t just hold onto those traditions — we carried them. We became the keeper of recipes not written down, the planners of every holiday gathering, the voices reminding everyone why the table mattered.
Even as life got faster and families moved apart, their home was the one they returned to — for cannoli, dolma, card games, or just comfort. They made it impossible to forget where they came from. They hosted not just events, but moments that became memories.
They’ll say family was kept at the center — always.
They’ll say culture was something you could feel, hear, taste, and carry forward.
And in the end, they’ll remember them not just for what they did, but for the way they made everyone feel like home.

Margherita & Mario, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The founders, Margherita and Mario Goro started Holy Cannoli in their home kitchen. Margherita grew up surrounded by the smell of her grandmother’s cooking with recipes handed down through the generations of her family, originating from Sicily.
Mario married into the Sicilian family and quickly learned family was always gathered around the table with delicious food and pastries much like his own. Over the years Mario witnessed his wife’s passion for cooking and baking, which inspired him to continue her family’s legacy by making Cannoli. Making Cannoli together turned into a Christmas tradition which eventually included the help of their son. Being able to create core memories is something they will forever be grateful for.
Our goal is to continue traditions for decades to come, use ingredients that are fresh, rich in taste and have a sense of belonging.
Our mission is to always treat clients like family and lastly to taste the sweetness of Sicily.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
For us, staying connected with clients goes far beyond a transaction — it’s about building genuine relationships rooted in trust, warmth, and consistency. We keep in touch through personal touches like thank-you notes, thoughtful check-ins, and social media engagement where we share behind-the-scenes moments, traditions, and stories that reflect who we are as a brand.
Brand loyalty is fostered when people feel seen and valued, so we aim to treat every client like family — remembering their special events, celebrating their milestones, and showing up with heart every single time. We want our clients to feel like they’re part of something lasting — not just a one-time service, but a legacy of care, tradition, and joy that they want to return to again and again.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Funny enough, our story started at a holiday party — but not just any party. Margherita’s mom was actually Mario’s manager at the time, and she invited her to the companies annual holiday gathering. We met there, started talking over social media and the rest is history.
