We recently connected with Christopher Rausch and have shared our conversation below.
Christopher, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Honestly, as a former homeless 7th grade dropout, living in a station wagon with mom and her various psychiatric challenges along with 18 cats and two dogs, having survived all that, plus two suicide attempts and a gun put to my head, I came out of all that inspired and determined to show/prove if I can do it – anyone can.
I was invited to speak to the 7th and 8th grade class at the school I dropped out of and was HOOKED to inspire the youth. I volunteer at Olive Crest Children’s Organization and am on the Board of Help Heal Humanity so yeah…I use my story, expertise, and passion to inspire the world to get out of their own way!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Well, a portion of this answer would be in what I shared in the previous question.
First and foremost I’m a mindset coach and professional speaker. What makes me unique is that I am not the traditional suit and tie speaker. I proudly fly my freak flag being authentically and unapologetically me. I guide my clients and audiences to embrace their uniqueness and be proud of who THEY truly are! No “masks” in my world.
My focus with my content is essentially helping people overcome their self-created crap without the self-help fluffy bullshit. I am known the world over as the #NoExcusesCoach (Google that hashtag and you’ll quickly see) and show people how to go from “comfortably miserable” to KICKASS UNSTOPPABLE!
I show and demonstrate the power of vulnerability, empathy, and compassion along with one of the most powerful tools – FORGIVENESS.
It’s really about shifting our perspectives, beliefs, and expectations about our past, present, and future that changes the trajectory of our lives.
I love all people and can’t stand labels. We’re all more the same no matter our color, religion, sexual orientation, etc etc etc!!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was living on the streets and sleazy motels from the age of 13 to 17 and in that time I had to do pretty much anything to eat and survive. I worked two jobs, sometimes three to keep us in a motel room while my mom played police informant while also doing stuff for a drug dealer in the motel we stayed in. She didn’t get a job.
After two suicide attempts (thankfully I sucked at it) I was asked to buy a carton of stolen Marlboro Reds (non-menthol) from a black guy and politely declined and proceeded to explain I smoke Kool’s – menthol cigarettes. He thought it was because he was black and long story short I had a 9MM to my head and thought my brains were gonna be in the newspaper the next day. Thankfully, my buddy (also black) intervened and saved my life.
A few days later I thought, “I’m gonna get out of here in one of three ways (1) In a casket (2) Cop car or (3) on my own choice to live MY life. I chose #3 and proceeded to ultimately get my GED then spent 12 years earning my Masters degree the same year I bought my first house.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes! I was super successful with my Masters degree in Organizational Management and worked my way up from entry level warehouse position to Director of Operations. I was in this organization for 26 years of my life and was “comfortably miserable” and in 2019 I was invited to leave.
I spent the previous 20 or so years starting my coaching and speaking career so it was time to jump 100% into my passion and then Covid hit. So yeah it was interesting but would never ever go back to a corporate job again!
