Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anna Mullins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Anna , appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
There are 8 key factors that I believe make someone successful in whatever field or career they choose.
1. Clarity of Purpose
Knowing what you want and why you want it. If you don’t have a target, it’s hard to hit one. This means setting meaningful goals that resonate with your values.
2. Consistency Over Time
Success is rarely about one big moment — it’s about small, smart actions done consistently over a long period. This is where habits, discipline, and perseverance shine.
3. Resilience
Things will go wrong. Obstacles, failures, and criticism are part of the journey. The ability to adapt, learn from setbacks, and keep going is key.
4. Willingness to Learn
Lifelong learning is essential. Whether it’s through formal education, mentors, or trial and error, staying curious and adaptable helps you evolve with your goals.
5. Building Relationships
No one succeeds in isolation. Relationships — with mentors, peers, collaborators, and supporters — can open doors, offer guidance, and enrich your journey.
6. Self-Belief and Confidence
You have to believe you’re capable of achieving your version of success, even when others doubt you. Self-trust fuels action.
7. Taking Action
Many people have big dreams but never take concrete steps toward them. Action — even imperfect action — is what separates dreamers from doers.
8. Alignment With Values
True success feels good when it aligns with who you are. If you sacrifice your well-being, ethics, or happiness just to “achieve,” it often feels hollow.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Anna, the founder of Lavender Moon Wedding and Events. I started this business out of a deep love for creating calm, beautiful, and deeply personal wedding experiences. I’ve always believed that weddings should feel like a reflection of the couple’s love story — not just a perfectly staged event, but a day filled with genuine emotion, intentional details, and moments to remember.
My journey into this world started organically. I was the friend who loved helping plan showers, birthday parties, and family weddings — and along the way, I discovered a knack for bringing order, creativity, and warmth to what can often feel like a very overwhelming process. What began as a passion evolved into Lavender Moon, a full-fledged wedding and event service built on the belief that couples deserve both expert guidance and an experience that feels truly their own.
What We Offer
At Lavender Moon Wedding and Events, we provide:
Full Wedding Planning — from concept to execution
Day-of Coordination — so you can enjoy your day while we handle the details
Event Design + Decor — crafting spaces that feel dreamy, intentional, and aligned with your vision
After-Event Cleanup — so you and your loved ones can focus on celebrating, not the mess
The Problems We Solve:
Weddings can be beautiful, but the planning can also bring stress, decision fatigue, and pressure to live up to expectations. I help my clients:
Feel supported and heard throughout the process
Turn scattered ideas into a cohesive, enchanting event
Navigate vendor choices and timelines with ease
Ensure that the big day runs smoothly behind the scenes. Create an atmosphere that feels authentic and welcoming
What Sets Us Apart:
I often hear from my clients that they chose Lavender Moon because of the calm, nurturing energy we bring to an industry that can sometimes feel chaotic or impersonal. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter weddings — every couple is unique, and your event should feel like it belongs to you, not a Pinterest board. I also pride myself on the relationships I build with my clients. Many couples tell me they feel like they’re planning their day with a trusted friend — and that is the biggest compliment I could ask for.
What I’m Most Proud Of:
I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me. Being invited into one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life is an honor I never take lightly. Each wedding I help bring to life holds a piece of my heart — and seeing couples and their families genuinely enjoy the day we’ve created together is incredibly fulfilling.
What I Want You To Know:
Lavender Moon Wedding and Events is about more than planning — it’s about creating space for joy, connection, and meaning. If you’re looking for a planner who will walk with you through the process with creativity, care, and heart — I would be honored to be part of your story.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building authentic relationships — both with couples and within the wedding industry itself.
Word of mouth and personal referrals have been absolutely key. When a couple feels genuinely cared for and supported throughout their planning process, they naturally want to share that experience with their friends and family. I take a very hands-on, personalized approach with each client, and that creates a level of trust that translates into organic recommendations.
In addition, investing in relationships with other wedding vendors — photographers, florists, venues, and more — has been incredibly valuable. When vendors enjoy working with you and see your professionalism and care in action, they are more likely to refer you to their clients. I really believe in the power of community over competition in this industry.
Lastly, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses and authentic stories on social media (especially Instagram) has helped me connect with clients who resonate with Lavender Moon’s vibe and values. When people can see the heart and personality behind your brand, they’re more likely to reach out.
At the end of the day, it’s about showing up consistently, being kind and dependable, and delivering an experience that feels special and memorable — not just on the wedding day, but throughout the entire planning journey.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media was definitely a slow and steady process — not an overnight success.
In the beginning, I focused more on showing real moments rather than trying to look like a big, polished company. I shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of weddings I was coordinating, sneak peeks of decor setups, little tips for brides, and personal reflections about why I love this work. I found that people connected much more with that authenticity than with staged, picture-perfect posts.
I also leaned into community. Instead of just posting and hoping for the best, I made a point to engage with other local vendors, comment on their posts, and collaborate whenever possible. Building relationships in the wedding community really helped expand my reach organically.
One turning point was when I started using Instagram Stories and Reels more regularly. Showing my face, my personality, and real-time work helped people trust me and feel like they knew me — which is huge in an industry that’s so personal.
My advice for those just starting out?
Be consistent, even when your audience is small. You’re building trust.
Be yourself. Your voice and personality will attract the right clients.
Engage with others, not just your followers. Community > competition.
Don’t stress about the numbers. Focus on connecting with your people.
Show the process, not just the polished result. People love the story behind the work.
At the end of the day, social media is about relationships, not just marketing. When you approach it that way, your audience will grow in a more natural and meaningful way.
