We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christina Mothershead. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christina below.
Alright, Christina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success has a different definition to everyone. To me, being successful is achieving a good balance between working and being with my family. I have spent the last several years making adjustments in order to do that. I’ve had to make some difficult decisions in order to be a present mom and give my clients my best work.

Christina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started real estate photography in 2018 as a way to make some extra money while homeschooling my two kids. I made some friends in real estate and realized there was a need for real estate photographers in the area. Looking back, I had a long way to go as far as my product went. However, I treated everyone with respect and listened to what the market needed. Over time, photography turned into video, drone photos, floor plans, virtual staging, 360° tours, and more. I’m most proud of what I was able to accomplish in a short amount of time, but also retain who I am at my core. Every bit of my business grew by word of mouth, I never once paid for advertising. I believe that by treating people well and providing a good product, I set myself apart from the others. I’m really grateful for the people who took a chance on me 8 years ago, and many of them are still my clients today.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I have always listened to my clients. If there was a need for something, I found a way to provide it. I’ve also treated my clients and their clients very well. I’ve gotten to know so many people over the years, and I feel like I make an impression on them. I always want people to feel good after we’ve had an interaction. That’s more important to me than my product, and I think that shows.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients has been word of mouth. I believe I have grown as quickly as I have by being good to people, and they’ve been good to me in return.
