We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tatyanna Elliott. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tatyanna below.
Tatyanna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Oh I always knew my path would be the artistic and creative avenue. As a child I was a performer, always singing and dancing and putting on plays and performances. When I began dancing at 5 I realized that was a passion. It was a form of therapy because of the expression and physicality, while also allowing me to create. My parents were always supportive of my endeavors and taught me I could do anything I wanted to do in this world. I am so grateful that I had that because I would not be happy in a non-creative space for my job. So, short answer is I always knew. However I was also reminded of it every step in my journey that I should pursue a creative path.

Tatyanna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Tatyanna and I am a content creator based in Los Angeles. I create content based on my interests such as vlogs when I travel, Taylor Swift, dance, singing, vegan eats, and other adventures. I love editing my videos or doing fun transitions, but I also have many videos that are completely unedited and I just got out of bed. It is a balance of authenticity with some creative and artistic flare sometimes. I would love for you to follow my socials that act as a digital journal for me to look back on. In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
There are so many ways to support artists. On an individual level, you can seek out local theater and dance companies to support the arts. You can also support your favorite creators by watching their videos, commenting, sharing, subscribing. Funding for the arts is where I think we need emphasis. When there are budget cuts it is always the arts that get cut first. And the arts are so so important. It is where so many children thrive, like I did. It is therapy. It is where you get to use your imagination and create something out of nothing. Children deserve to have these avenues. And as a society we also need to not hinder children from exploring that.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I can create. I can explore. It feels right and fulfilling. Not everything about the content creation space is creative, there are the business aspects of it as well. So I feel so full when I am able to fully create. And that doesn’t always mean to post. I create so much that never gets posted because for me creating is number one for myself. For me to process feelings or conversations, to celebrate, to grieve, to sort out my thoughts, to be silly. That is why I do it. It fulfills me in ways that I don’t get anywhere else.
