We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lorraine Pinon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lorraine below.
Hi Lorraine, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?
My team works remotely. I strongly believe in work life balance and being available for your family first. I haven’t came across any pitfalls. Non obvious benefits are flexibility and better work culture

Lorraine, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi, I’m Lorraine. I’m an interior designer, licensed contractor, and project manager with a love for thoughtful design and hands-on creativity. I bring a mix of soul, structure, and style into every space I work on, whether that’s custom cabinetry, curated furniture, or detailed 3D renderings that help clients really see their space before it’s built. For me, great design isn’t just about how something looks. It’s about how it feels, how it functions, and how it supports your everyday life. I pull inspiration from all over the place art museums, travel, nature, or even a beautifully designed chair in a hotel lobby.
I really value connection, and I love getting to know my clients. Some of the best moments happen through real conversations, about design, family, everyday life, the things that make a space feel truly personal. Lately, I’ve been focusing on building a business and a life that feel aligned, creative, and true to who I am. To me, entrepreneurship is its own kind of art, and I’m grateful every day to do what I love and keep growing in the process.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My advice for managing a team is to put your people first. We all have values, family, dreams, and desires. I enjoy getting to know my team and discussing these topics with them. Based on my experience in business, I always hope to guide them to pursue their dreams. I also like to let them know that this is a creative space which is flexible enough to have balance between work and family, and family is always first. My team is extremely important to me and I want to make sure they feel that way and are comfortable in their positions to succeed.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I went to school for interior design. After graduating, I held several design positions at various companies, gaining valuable experience. I knew I needed to gain knowledge and experience, but I always felt there was more out there for me. The first company I was with for a long time, the longer I stayed, the unhappier I became. I decided to network and find another job in the industry that offered me more flexibility, allowing me to start my own business on the side and bring in my own clients. I was able to create my website, social media, and register my business name with the state, and work both jobs. The last job I had was with a fantastic mentor as my boss, who was very transparent and showed me business strategies that I still practice to this day. With his guidance, I was able to grow my business and branch out independently.
