We recently connected with KoRaan Williams and have shared our conversation below.

KoRaan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

My most meaningful project right now is a short film I’m calling “The Red Room.” It was actually inspired by my friend/inspiration/co-worker, Carissa Johnson, during a time when I was feeling pretty lonely and disconnected from everything around me. Her idea in reality for the film has been a real healing factor for me. I am forever thankful.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is KoRaan Williams. My company/brand is Stained Glass Studios. I got into the industry of writing, producing, and directing at a younger age. I was always surrounded by classic films such as “Casablanca, Vanilla Sky, Paid a Full, and much more. The project and movie I am most inspired by at this moment is Sinners by Ryan Coogler. I hope to work with him one day.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Oh man, there’s definitely a particular goal driving me. I don’t mean to be blunt, but I want it all! I’ve worked so hard creating a life I can be proud of. If we’re talking about a specific goal, I do want to sweep the Oscars, with all the trophies being presented alongside my loved ones, family, and friends. That’s just a dream of mine. More importantly, my biggest goal and journey is to inspire and create.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

You know, I think the biggest resource I wish I knew about earlier in my creative journey is simply taking an insight into my surroundings and the people around me. It’s funny, my newest project, “The Red Room,” was actually brought to life by one of my co-workers. On a personal note, just by paying attention to that interaction, I was able to construct a story that truly reached my heart, and it was something I was able to learn and grow from.
