We recently connected with Michelle Trail and have shared our conversation below.
Michelle , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Traillionaires was a name and a conversation before it came into reality. It was nearly 19 years ago when marrying Mr. Trail my marital maketing background plus my educational experience always has me coming up with trendy names. I created TRAILlionaires and said one day this will be legacy. I created the email to hold the name and then went on about my career and extra curriculum activities working to figure out what was naturally taking on to a skill or talent I could ask others to pay for. There birth Traillionaires as a business and nonprofit

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Denver native – Montbello raised; two parent home dad from Detroit mom born in Albany Ga but raised in Germany. – parents pushed education. I went to an HBCU Oakwood University in Huntsville Al – Enter to learn, depart to serve. Graduated in 4 then came home to work for the summer save some cash and pursue Masters. During that time I did my law internship one of the careers I always had as a top but quickly realized I didn’t love the research portion of old cases. Then took a temporary job which turned into a permanent position ultimately as a Business Operations Manager. My degree was in BA and Marketing so it was perfect. A few years into the role it was my EVP who served as a mentor asking me what is it that I want to do when I really grow up. I said I want to run my own organization, or be a CEO. He said if you really want to run an organization you need to know how to impact the bottom line. Which equated to sales and him creating a role that ultimately landed me in a 20 years sale technology executive role for fortune 100 companies. Sharpening tools that I had from a business manager, relationship building, negotiation and more materialized into the advisory agency and the nonprofit was the purpose driven legacy I had always talked about while serving on other boards…
