Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Lee Lotto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Laura Lee, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love for you to start by sharing your thoughts about the pros and cons of family businesses.
Ah yes… We are currently building several family businesses currently with our homeschooled teenagers. Our 5 children are currently 16, 13, 11, 4 & 2 and we have recently re-branded our family farm and created a 35 page business plan that includes each of the children to have them join the businesses utilizing their unique talents and skills and personalities.
As a professional astrologer, I have a special understanding of their skills they were programmed with and what paths might fit them well. I work to use that information to create roles within our family business that fit them. We are in the “training” phase of this plan and slowly implementing it all as they grow.
The challenges have been showing up in little ways like for our kiddos, “swtiching hats” and playing a different role. Are we in “kid/play mode” now or are we “working and responsible mode” now? And as the parent it’s a similar kind of challenge – am I in “boss/CEO mode” or am I “Mom” now. We have found that carving out specific time to focus on work/ business and keeping to that schedule has been the most challenging so far. Our daily life is chaotic and busy and our focus gets pulled and pushed in so many directions that getting a specific “family business training/work schedule” has been the most difficult to implement. It’s easy to let laundry or dishes or other things in life take over and get the way.
We also homeschool our children so there is a lot more flexibility and time to work with them and be with them. A lot of how we do our homeschooling is tailored to entrepreneurism and the idea of owning their own businesses or working within ours. One of our core beliefs as a couple and family is that we are here on Earth to be the best versions of ourselves we can be and give our talents to society in some way to help improve it. Through our businesses, we hope to cultivate those talents and provide opportunities for our children to do just that. To give their talents and be of service helping to improve our world somehow.
The Aquarian Acres is our homestead and we have been working on growing our vision of what that is and looks like for 13 years now. Recently re-branding in 2022, adding my professional astrology business, Laura Lee Lotto – Alternative Wellness Services, and opening a disc golf course on our land, we opened up many opportunities for our family to expand our services and offerings to the community. It feels normal and natural for us to just keep the kids as part of our lives and businesses the way we do with homeschooling – just a continuation and extension of what we are already doing.
My oldest, our son Elliott, has a talent for being on stage, creating a certain energy with a crowd and we see him being a great fit for our events as the Emcee and promotions manager. He is great at helping me to “be the face of” The Aquarian Acres and all we represent and do here. He’s been stepping more into commercial creation and social media ideas. His younger sister Gertie is 13 and is very talented with computer editing, marketing, graphic creation and all things computer and visual. We are grateful for her skills and talents and watching them grow and develop. Next is our 11 year old daughter Gwenivere who has a talent for the energetics of a space and creating the right vibe. She will be stepping into the event planning role as we open our facility more to that in the next few years. She is amazing at color energetics, decorations and design and capturing the feel of something. We look forward to utilizing her skills as she grows into them! The youngest two are still in development, although we have a vague idea of where and how they can fit into the family biz and we are eager to watch to see if we are right.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
What we do at The Aquarian Acres is truly one-of-a-kind — because it’s born from a very personal journey of healing, intuition, and aligned living. We don’t fit neatly into a single category or industry, and we like it that way. Our land and offerings blend organic farming, disc golf, wellness education, spiritual development, and good old‑fashioned fun — all in service of connection, healing, and legacy. And alongside that, my personal practice, Laura Lee Lotto, Alternative Wellness Services, reaches clients around the world through intuitive astrology readings, aromatherapy coaching, and energy healing.
My story begins at age 12, when a vaccine injury and subsequent diagnoses of arthritis and lupus put me into chronic pain. As I healed, I discovered—first through nutrition and detox, then aromatherapy after my third child—that body, mind, and spirit are inseparable. Astrology entered my life a decade later, filling in the missing pieces of energetic awareness. Those practices became the foundation of AWS, my main financial lifeline, where I offer:
~ Intuitive Astrology Readings: Deep soul‑blueprint guidance you can do from anywhere—via Zoom or phone—so distance is no barrier.
~ Aromatherapy & Wellness Coaching: Customized protocols to clear emotional blocks, reduce stress, and support physical healing.
~ Energy Healing Sessions: Gentle biofield work to realign your energy and activate your own inner healer.
Beyond one‑off sessions, I’ve built Cosmic Mama Collective, a monthly online membership where women gather to explore spiritual wellness, intuitive development, and community support—no matter where they live. And each week on the Ram & Goat Astrology Podcast, Helena (my partner in Sweden) and I dive into current cosmic transits, answer listener questions, and share stories of transformation. That podcast has become a touchstone for hundreds of souls who want practical, compassionate astrology that makes sense and is usable in their earbuds.
Back on the land, The Aquarian Acres sustains our roots with over 15 varieties of fruit, 4–6 vegetable gardens, and a growing 18‑hole disc golf course. We host immersive farm‑to‑soul events, from seasonal wellness immersions to astrology‑and‑aromatherapy workshops. Yet even if you never step onto our property, you can still access the same nurturing and empowerment: a bag of online‑ordered, freeze-dried produce, a virtual farm tour, or a remote reading that feels as warm and personal as sitting in the farmhouse kitchen.
What sets us apart is the way we blend real‑world, hands‑in‑the‑soil community with soul‑centered, intuition‑driven healing that transcends geography. Clients regularly tell me that an online astrology session feels so vivid and precise it’s like I’m right beside them. And members of Cosmic Mama Collective often say the monthly calls are the highlight of their spiritual practice—no matter what time zone they’re in.
Our values—intuition, legacy, joy, and holistic health—shine through everything we do. We believe healing can be playful; growth can be delicious; and community can flourish both in‑person and online. Over 13 years on this land, rebranding in 2022, launching AWS globally, building Cosmic Mama, and growing Ram & Goat have all been milestones, and doing all of that while pregnant and growing our family are things I’m incredibly proud of.
For potential clients, followers, or curious visitors everywhere: if you’re seeking soulful connection, intuitive insight, and practical tools to transform your life, you don’t need to travel to Wisconsin (though you’re always welcome!). Book a virtual reading, join the Collective, tune into the podcast, or—if you’re local—come throw some discs and gather fresh produce. Either way, you’ll leave with a smile, a softened nervous system, and the key-change sensation of stepping into a brighter tone of being.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Pivoting in life and business is actually my strong suit. I am a college educated person, however, I attended 6 colleges over 11 years time and made numerous shifts in my degree. My husband was in the Air Force and I was trying to “find a career” that would fit his. I finally graduated with a degree in Marketing & Business and figured that would be the most flexible and encompass the most options for me.
My path through my work and career has been just as shifting and changeable. After a total of over 40 jobs in a HUGE variety of fields, and playing around with entrepreneurship part-time for a while, my husband and I made the challenging and scary decision in 2022 for me to take over as the main financial provider and he would be home with the kids mostly. When we made this decision, I had been a holistic health coach and aromatherapist for over a decade and had built a nice small business and a great following of people and clients. After the pandemic, like most people, I made a shift and I fully embraced my authentic self and stepped into my years-long passion of Astrology and came out as an Astrologer the next year with a full rebrand of my business.
This was a big shift from the girl who started out in college as a Theater Major! The path has been very twisty and turny for me and with each change in direction, I thank and appreciate the experiences I gained and the perspectives I learned from. Each job, each college, each teacher in each state we lived in taught me so much about myself, what I wanted, what I was absolutely unwilling to deal with, and what my own goals were. I never started out with the intention of being an entrepreneur, but it fits me and is exactly what I need… No limits, no one telling me why I can’t do something, and complete freedom to explore all of the possibilities without being frowned upon by whatever male boss I had that thought my ideas were “too much”….
Now I get to follow my heart to be of service to humanity in the most fun, exciting, and eclectic ways and on MY terms and my schedule.
Pivoting is all I really know how to do. Try it, evaluate, adjust/pivot, repeat.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, absolutely—and what a journey it has been. My business didn’t begin with a polished plan or a professional goal. It started with survival. I was four months postpartum with my third child in four years, completely depleted, and deep in adrenal fatigue. I had no tools, no support system that truly understood, and I felt like I was drowning under the weight of stress, hormones, and emotional burnout.
Then came what I now call my “crash-and-burn moment.” A friend invited me to a class on aromatherapy taught by a few passionate educators. I had nothing to lose, so I drove the two hours and showed up—and it ended up changing everything. That class cracked something open in me. I said yes to learning more and began using the products immediately. The frequency shift I experienced was undeniable. I felt like—for the first time in a long time—I had a lifeline. That decision to attend a class started me on a healing path that became so much more than I ever expected.
What began as simply using the products for my own recovery quickly turned into sharing them. I started casually teaching others, hosting classes, and talking to anyone who would listen. Before I knew it, I was building a part-time income and experiencing the joy of helping others find relief, clarity, and empowerment through natural wellness. I wasn’t just healing—I was rebuilding a whole new life, and bringing others with me.
As my client base grew, so did my desire to go deeper. I pursued formal aromatherapy training and began offering personalized coaching and education. But I noticed something: in nearly every session, I would get the intuitive urge to look at a client’s birth chart. Astrology had always been a background interest, but it slowly began weaving itself into my work. And when I finally gave myself permission to bring astrology to the front of what I do, everything exploded—in the best possible way.
That shift was a major turning point. What had started as a side hustle became a full-blown calling. My readings became richer. My clients had deeper breakthroughs. My intuitive hits became clearer and more validated. And from there, my business evolved into what it is today: a fully integrated wellness and spiritual coaching practice that combines astrology, aromatherapy, intuitive guidance, and emotional healing.
Some key milestones in this transformation include:
~ Becoming a certified aromatherapist and wellness coach.
~ Hosting my first public classes and building a local community.
~ Officially launching LLL Alternative Wellness Services as a business.
~ Getting consistent feedback from clients about how life-changing my combined astrology + wellness approach was.
~ Launching the Cosmic Mama Collective membership to offer ongoing spiritual support and education online.
~ Co-creating the Ram & Goat Astrology Podcast, which has become a fun and impactful way to reach people weekly with real-time cosmic guidance.
And most recently, expanding our offerings through The Aquarian Acres—our homestead hub for events, education, and experiential healing.
I didn’t build this business from a 5-year plan—I followed it. I allowed the intuitive breadcrumbs, the divine timing, and the inspired actions to lead the way. Letting go of control and letting Source steer the ship has been the most beautiful and humbling part of it all. And I’m just getting started.
