We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amanda Bennett. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amanda below.
Amanda, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
One of the biggest lessons I learned while working in collegiate and professional athletics was that people value access, not just stuff.
I worked closely with donors and ticket holders who gave hundreds of thousands—even millions—of dollars.
And you know what they wanted most? It wasn’t the game tickets.
It was the experience those tickets gave them.
Dinner with the athletes.
Helping paint the “G” on the field before kickoff.
Feeling taken care of like a VIP in the suites.
Being the select few who get to sit in the hot tub to watch the game.
That access made them feel special, like insiders.
What really stuck with me was how much more people are willing to give to feel special and valued.
At the core, access is about status.
But not always in a flashy “look at me” kind of way.
It’s about feeling like you’re the only one who gets to be there.
Now, as a business owner, I carry that lesson with me.
Clients don’t just want the deliverables, they want the experience of working with someone who values them.
They want to feel like a priority. Like they’re getting something no one else has.
When you create that kind of experience, clients and customers stick around, and they’re happy to invest more.
So whether it’s a podcast guesting strategy session, a live conference, or a podcast/email content plan, I try to make my clients feel like a VIP.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a podcast guesting & marketing strategist who helps mom podcasters grow their shows and find the right listeners, without getting overwhelmed and throwing in the towel.
I started my podcasting journey after over a decade working in nonprofit fundraising and communications. I loved getting to share people’s stories and connect them with opportunities that made them feel like part of something bigger.
As a new mom, I craved a creative project that I could make my own while I make a difference in other moms lives.
Podcasting allowed me to do that.
Now, I help mom podcasters who’ve hit a plateau in their growth or motivation.
Maybe they’ve tried all the generic advice online like social media posting, trying to get paid sponsors, even selling merch (please don’t), but they’re not seeing real results.
I help them stop second-guessing and start growing with smart marketing and podcast guesting strategy. I do this by showing them how to get featured on the right shows, use email in an effective, doable way, and build deeper relationships with their listeners.
My services include one-on-one consulting for guest strategy (both for hosts and guests), done-with-you guesting packages, and support and resources inside my free Podcasting Moms Club community.
My background in fundraising, communication, managing volunteers, event planning & execution, and project management gives me a unique perspective in the podcast industry.
What makes my work different is that it’s not one-size-fits-all.
I don’t believe in cookie-cutter strategies.
Every person, podcast, and business is different. I help each podcaster figure out what works best for them based on their life, their strengths, and what “success” means for them.
I’m most proud of being able to help moms share their message and experience confidently so they can make more impact – both for their family, and for the people who work with them.
Marketing your business and gaining more visibility is important for growth, but it can also feel vulnerable, especially for women who feel that they have to be perfect before they can put themselves out there.
My goal is that after working with me, podcasters feel seen, supported, and have a plan to grow in a way that actually feels good.
Past clients have been featured on top ranked podcasts, gained paying clients from interviews, grown their communities, and made invaluable connections with other podcast hosts that led to even more collaborations.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission is to help more moms share their voice.
Podcasting gave me my creative voice and connected me to incredible women who value the same things I do.
It reminded me that my story and unique perspective matters—and so does yours.
I believe that when moms feel confident sharing their ideas, it doesn’t just help their businesses, it helps their kids, their communities, and future generations.
There’s a lot of noise out there telling women how to grow their podcasts or businesses.
But I’m here to say that there’s no ONE right way.
I want to give moms the tools and support to build podcasts that fit their lives.
Not the other way around.
At the heart of it, I want to help more moms grow shows that lead to real opportunities—like paid speaking gigs, great clients, and collaborations they love.
And I want them to have fun doing it!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One big lesson I had to unlearn was asking for permission.
I spent over a decade working in traditional jobs.
In that world, almost every decision had to be approved by at least one other person, if not multiple layers of people.
There wasn’t much room to take risks or try something new without a meeting or a memo (or ten!).
So when I started my own business, I had to remind myself that I can try things.
I don’t need permission from anyone.
I can test an idea, see what works, and learn from what doesn’t.
Now, I try to treat my business like an experiment.
If something doesn’t go the way I planned, it’s not a failure, it’s data.
It tells me what to change next time.
That shift changed everything.
I try to give myself space to be creative and to build a business that works on my terms.
And I hope to pass that freedom on to every client I work with.
