Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aniabell Valentin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aniabell, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about one of the craziest things you’ve experienced in your journey so far.
During Haitian flag day this year, organized by Haitian Austin hub, We had a wonderful experience like usual but this time there was a very particularly funny customer. Usually there is always a bit of chitchat between customers and myself but this one had been looking for us for a while with no luck, they have heard of us from multiple people that has raved about Bon Nan Bouch! and our delicious and authentic “Ayitien kreyol lakay” flavor in everything we make but always missed our time of service. while preparing the tent for service that day he came as soon as he was informed Bon Nan Bouch! was serving here from the organizers, which made me proud. he came rushing over and met me first, I greeted him with a big joyous smile like I do and his response was “m resi jwenn ou!”(I’ve finally found you!) with so much excitement and glee. in order to get our delicious food he chose to wait by our tent until we were all set up and ready to serve which was at least an hour and a half just to be sure he got his share of our food. We were so happy he wanted our food so badly but also felt a little bad he had to wait that long so we gave him some free items to compensate, despite the long wait he was cracking jokes and having conversations with us the whole time, it was an amazing experience and we are so grateful for people like him and everyone that desires to eat our delicious cuisine. after he got enough food for a few days we made sure he had all our mode of contacts that way he will not have any more issues finding our delicious authentic Ayitien food in the future and told him to share with all his friends and family.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Since starting i have had a lot of ups and down mostly due to being the only person doing all of the orders Bon Nan Bouch! receives from catering to doing events, meal prep and daily orders i was feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated week by week. I was always happy and excited to receiving them and doing my outmost to provide my clients and customers with the very best every single time but after each satisfying order came an overwhelming tiredness and body aches. As time progresses and we grow I realized I couldn’t keep doing this the way i have been and needed some change, I inquired about what i could do to improve my body to withstand the work and in turn increase my abilities so I started to incorporate daily yoga in my life and hiring help for major events and large orders which have really helped and given me the time and energy to expand and grow more month to month. Because this is my passion and calling in this life i intend to do everything possible, overcome every obstacle, and exceed my own expectations to make it happen.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My product has been the ultimate culprit! i find that people love my food for real for real lol.
I have spent years perfecting my cooking type specially so i can always provide the tastiest most accurate flavor of Ayiti possible, I have received advice and guidance from every auntie and uncles that can cook in my family including my beautiful mother and amazing father to create some of my tastiest menu items, my father being the mail culprit and my #1 fan and supporter has given me the basis for bring that authentic kreyol flavor to life in my cooking through his EPIS, which is Ayiti’s all purpose seasoning made with a number of fresh herbs and spices. every Ayitien household has a recipe of their own and my father taught me his which i sell in jars named FRANCKY’ EPIS. The other culprit being the Ayitien pride, self confidence and stubbornness instilled in me by my parents that makes me always try harder and never give up until i get to my goal, which made it possible for me to create the brand and the desire to share Ayitien cuisine with the world.
