We recently connected with Nicolette Williams and have shared our conversation below.

Nicolette, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

A few months after my husband, our four children, and I sold our home in New Jersey, we made the bold decision to uproot our lives and move to North Carolina, specifically to Wake County, a part of the state we had never even visited before. We were drawn to the area by its family-oriented atmosphere, growing opportunities, and diversity. It was a leap of faith in every sense.

I had always dreamed of starting my own business, and this move felt like the perfect moment to finally bet on myself. With four young kids, I needed something that offered flexibility without compromising my ability to be a hands on mother. That’s how Jersey Lashes was born.

Starting from scratch in a brand new place was scary. But it’s also been the most rewarding decision I’ve ever made. Not only has it given me stability and control over my time, it’s introduced me to some of the most powerful, supportive, and inspiring women I’ve ever met. Building this business hasn’t just changed my life, it’s helped me pour into the lives of other women as well.

I’ll be forever grateful that I took that risk.

Nicolette, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist and part of the beauty industry since 2012. I started out doing hair, and while I loved the creative process and connection with clients, I didn’t feel completely fulfilled. In 2018, while scrolling through social media, I came across lash extensions for the first time. I’ve always loved low-maintenance beauty that enhances what’s naturally there, and I was immediately drawn in.

Curious and inspired, I trained one-on-one with a local lash artist and studio owner. After just a few sessions, I knew I had found my calling. I earned my certification and began practicing on friends and family out of my home, falling more in love with the craft and the confidence it gave my clients.

When my family and I moved to North Carolina, I took a leap of faith and opened Jersey Lashes. What started as a solo venture quickly grew into something so much bigger: a safe, welcoming space where women feel seen, beautiful, and empowered.

Jersey Lashes specializes in premium eyelash extension services using advanced technique and attention to detail. But beyond beauty, we’re building a brand rooted in connection and confidence.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients has definitely been word of mouth. There’s nothing more powerful than a happy client sharing their experience with a friend, family member, or co-worker. That’s why customer service is at the heart of everything we do at Jersey Lashes. When clients feel genuinely cared for and love their results, they naturally become our biggest advocates.

We also support this with a strong referral program that rewards both existing and new clients. It’s a simple but powerful way to grow our community while showing appreciation for those who help spread the word. Building trust and lasting relationships has been the key to our growth.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I believe my reputation has been built on a strong foundation of attention to detail, clean and consistent application, and excellent customer service. Every lash set is treated like a work of art, and I take pride in delivering results that not only look beautiful but last. Clients know they can count on a professional, welcoming experience every time they walk through the door. I also listen closely to feedback and make sure each person feels heard and valued.
