We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lindsay Steiner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsay, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Bradyl Storage Solutions’ mission is rooted in delivering smart, high-quality storage solutions while providing the kind of attentive, personalized service every step of the way. As a family-owned business, we take care to stay directly involved with every client, from initial property assessment through installation and ongoing support, ensuring consistency, clear communication, and attention to detail. We recognize that we’re not just providing storage solutions. We’re helping our clients improve their properties, increase resident satisfaction, and solve operational challenges. We take pride in doing the job right and with the kind of care that builds long-lasting trust.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Growing up, I saw firsthand the kind of creativity, grit, and passion it takes to build something meaningful–qualities that ran deep in my family. My great-grandfather opened a shoe store that revolutionized the shoe buying experience for consumers out of Scranton, Pennsylvania, a family business that was passed down for three generations. My husband’s grandfather was a trailblazing restauranter in Washington DC and his legacy still lives on. My father, while starting his career at an agency, became an entrepreneur when I was in high school. My younger sister referred to him as an “entremanure!”. My education at Boston University in the seemingly unrelated field of occupational therapy honed my skills in problem solving and activity analysis, which I applied to the business world when my husband proposed we start a new venture together.
My husband Mike and I have been best friends since childhood, and twenty years ago, he launched a successful custom closet business. In the middle of a job, working in a parking garage, Mike realized the untapped potential of the space around him–and that sparked the idea to convert underutilized garage space into secure storage, ultimately inspiring us to launch our shared venture, Bradyl Storage Solutions.
Founded in 2009 and based in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Bradyl Storage Solutions is a trusted leader in the multifamily storage industry delivering innovative, high-quality product solutions to clients nationwide. Meeting the unique needs of property managers, general contractors, architects, and real estate developers, we strive for excellence, reliability, and personalized service. We offer smart, secure, and durable alternatives to traditional wire cage storage through our products, the Bradyl Bin and Bradyl Box. The Bradyl Box provides over 80 cubic feet of overhead storage that fits above any standard vehicle, while the Bradyl Bin is an enclosed unit designed with both durability and aesthetics in mind.
What really differentiates us, however, is the team behind the brand. As a family-owned and founded business, we take pride in staying closely involved in every project, offering a level of care and attention that larger operations often miss. We’re here to deliver smart solutions and build lasting relationships with our customers, industry partners, and the communities we serve.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When we first launched Bradyl Storage Solutions, we faced significant hurdles, particularly with cash flow and securing clients. The early days were slow, and I remember the frustration of endless cold calls and rejections while my twins were napping, or not getting past the front desk attendant when trying to meet apartment managers. Balancing the pressure of family life with a growing business was tough, but Mike and I kept pushing forward and supporting each other, believing in the value of what we were offering.
Building a business, especially a family-owned one, takes time. We had to make hard choices, like trimming costs and putting some plans on hold, but remained open and honest with each other, which kept us united in those difficult moments. Eventually, our resilience began to pay off. Mike was able to transition to Bradyl full-time, and we secured major clients like UDR and Bozutto. We also started seeing our products specified in new construction projects, making our entry into the architecture space. Those early struggles laid the groundwork for our success today.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
It’s not easy to explain a product that’s designed to fit over a car without one–that was the challenge we kept running into at trade shows with the Bradyl Box. Despite our best efforts showcasing the product in the booth, people just weren’t getting it. That’s when we realized that an actual car was necessary as part of the display.
Mike, a car enthusiast always on the lookout for a good deal, found a flooded-out VW Beetle convertible at an auction that seemed perfect for our needs. To work around the size restrictions of a trade show booth, we decided to cut the car in half. With the help of Mike’s brother, who owns an autobody shop, they carefully sawed the car in half, removed the interior to lighten the weight, and mounted it on casters for easy maneuvering. The result? A fully functional, eye-catching display that clearly demonstrated the real-world practicability of the Bradyl Box. Plus, we sold off the unused car parts, covering the cost of the Beetle.
