The Defining Moment: Meeting Mike Mentzer and Unlocking the Power of HIT
It was a moment that would shape my entire philosophy—not just in training but in life and business. Meeting Mike Mentzer, the mastermind behind High-Intensity Training, wasn’t just an encounter; it was an awakening.
I remember standing there, listening to him speak. His presence alone commanded attention—not because of theatrics, but because of his uncompromising logic. He spoke about efficiency, precision, and the brutal truth of training. There was no fluff, no wasted effort—only results. It was then I realized that HIT wasn’t just superior; it was revolutionary.
Mike didn’t just teach me how to train harder; he taught me how to think smarter. His words weren’t just about lifting weights—they were about understanding reality, stripping away illusions, and approaching everything with calculated intensity. Training wasn’t about endless volume—it was about strategic execution. Business wasn’t about scattered efforts—it was about cutting through the noise and focusing on impact.
That shift in mindset propelled my own personal training career. I started helping clients break free from the misinformation that dominated the fitness industry. Instead of chasing trends, I taught them the truth—HIT principles that worked. From beginners struggling to see progress to seasoned athletes stuck in plateaus, I guided hundreds to breakthroughs they never imagined possible.
But more than that, I carried Mentzer’s mindset beyond the gym. I refined my approach to business, branding, and coaching—all driven by critical thinking and ruthless efficiency. No wasted energy. No distractions. Only forward movement.
That defining moment—the day I stood face-to-face with Mike Mentzer—was the day I stopped thinking like everyone else and started thinking like a leader. HIT wasn’t just a method; it was a philosophy for success.
And I’ve never looked back.

Markus, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My Journey: How HIT and Mike Mentzer Transformed My Thinking
I’m Markus Reinhardt, and my path in fitness, business, and personal development has been anything but conventional. From the moment I stepped into the world of High-Intensity Training (HIT), I knew this wasn’t just another training philosophy—it was a total shift in mindset.
Meeting Mike Mentzer was the defining moment that changed everything. I wasn’t just learning how to train harder—I was learning how to think smarter. HIT wasn’t about mindless volume or chasing arbitrary numbers; it was about precision, intensity, and results. Mike showed me how to strip away the unnecessary, focus on what truly matters, and execute every rep, every session, and every decision with ruthless efficiency.
That realization didn’t just transform my approach to fitness—it shaped how I operate in business and in life. I learned to think beyond the surface, to analyze, strategize, and refine everything I do. As a personal trainer, I took these principles and applied them to my work, helping hundreds of clients achieve real results. Instead of wasting time on gimmicks, I taught them how to train intelligently, efficiently, and with purpose.
But my mission goes beyond one-on-one coaching. I wanted to bring Mentzer’s legacy and HIT principles to a wider audience, so I created HITManuals.com, a resource where I share eBooks, training insights, and exclusive content designed to cut through the noise and deliver real knowledge that gets results.
I also launched my first-ever narrated breakdown of Mentzer’s original HIT workout—a project that brings fresh insights to classic footage, allowing audiences to see not just the workout itself, but the deeper reasoning behind it.
Through my work, I want people to understand that HIT isn’t just about lifting weights—it’s about thinking more advanced. Whether it’s training, business, or personal development, the same principles apply: cut the fluff, focus on precision, and execute with intensity.
If you’re ready to train smarter, not harder, explore my resources at HITManuals.com, or learn more about my coaching and methodology at HighIntensityCoach.com—because the real secret to success isn’t just effort, it’s strategy

Breaking the Chains: Staying True to Logic in a World of Bodybuilding Dogma
From the moment I discovered High-Intensity Training, I knew I was stepping into a world that wouldn’t easily accept change. The fitness industry, particularly bodybuilding, was built on rituals passed down like sacred texts, unquestioned and revered, despite their lack of logic. Endless volume, blind adherence to “the pump,” and the idolization of overtraining had become unwritten laws, enforced by tradition rather than science and reason.
But then, there was Mike Mentzer—the man who dared to challenge it all. His approach was ruthless in its logic and unapologetic in its rejection of mysticism. He demanded critical thinking, a willingness to discard what didn’t work, and the courage to defy convention.
That courage would be tested the moment I embraced HIT as my guiding principle.
I faced opposition from all directions—fellow bodybuilders, trainers, even industry veterans who scoffed at the idea that less could be more. I was told I didn’t understand “real” bodybuilding, that I needed to bow to the traditions, that science had no place in what they called an art form.
But I refused to cave.
I stayed true to Mentzer’s teachings, because they weren’t just theories—they were proven truths, backed by reason, logic, and results. While others continued their marathon sessions, breaking down their bodies with unnecessary volume, I trained with precision and purpose, knowing that every rep counted, every session was designed for maximum efficiency.
And the results spoke for themselves.
Not only did I elevate my own physique to new levels, but I also transformed the way my clients trained, helping hundreds break free from the dogma that had held them back. The skeptics? They watched in silence as HIT produced the results their endless workouts never could.
Beyond training, this philosophy shaped how I think in every aspect of life and business. Instead of following empty traditions, I make decisions based on logic, efficiency, and strategic execution. Whether in coaching, branding, or entrepreneurship, the same principles apply—cut through the noise, eliminate waste, focus on what works.
Resisting the dogma wasn’t easy—but I never wavered. Because the truth doesn’t need approval, and logic never bows to tradition.
HIT isn’t just training—it’s a mindset, a philosophy, a way of life. And I’ve built my brand, my career, and my success on its foundation—unshaken, unapologetic, and stronger than ever.
