We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kiara Griffin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kiara below.
Hi Kiara, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Speedy Hydration & Wellness is committed to providing accessible, holistic health solutions that support prevention, recovery, and overall well-being. We offer an alternative to non-urgent ER visits through affordable services that address vitamin deficiencies, electrolyte imbalances, and post-surgical recovery. Our goal is to reduce healing time after illness, injury, or physical exertion while promoting long-term wellness. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate care and restorative therapies to those in need within our community.

Kiara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Kiara Griffin, and I’m a registered nurse and certified lymphatic therapist with over a decade of experience in health and wellness. I founded Speedy Hydration & Wellness in September 2022 while working as an oncology nurse. During that time, I witnessed the overwhelming needs of patients recovering from surgery, going through chemotherapy, or simply discharged from the hospital without adequate support. I also saw how many individuals turned to expensive and time-consuming ER visits for services like IV hydration, wound care, and recovery support that could be offered more affordably and comfortably elsewhere.
That’s why I took a leap of faith to create a space where people could access holistic, nurse-led wellness care in a calming, spa-like setting. At Speedy Hydration & Wellness, we provide IV hydration therapy, vitamin injections, manual lymphatic drainage, post-op and wound care, red light therapy, and other services designed to support recovery, restore balance, and promote overall well-being.
What sets us apart is our personal, client-centered approach. We understand the physical and emotional toll of recovery, and we’re here to help reduce that burden with compassion and clinical expertise. I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built with our clients, especially cancer survivors and post-surgical patients, and of making wellness accessible—not just a luxury, but a necessity.
Above all, I want people to know that healing doesn’t have to be hard. You deserve care that’s supportive, affordable, and tailored to your unique needs—and that’s what we’re here to provide.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was placing a ceiling on my own potential. I grew up in a low-middle class household raised by a hardworking single mother and a supportive father. Watching my mom sacrifice so much to make sure our needs were met instilled in me a strong work ethic and a mindset of survival—but not necessarily success on my own terms.
For a long time, I believed stability came from working hard for someone else, not from leading something of my own. Becoming a business owner wasn’t even on my radar, especially being the first in my family to run a company. I had no blueprint, no roadmap, and honestly, very little confidence in the beginning. I often asked, “Why me?”—doubting if I was truly capable.
But nearly three years into owning and operating Speedy Hydration & Wellness, I’ve had to unlearn that mindset of limitation. Through prayer, faith, and navigating the ups and downs—including losing a business partner, facing the challenges of being a minority entrepreneur, and building a team—I’ve discovered I’m much stronger and wiser than I ever gave myself credit for. I’m proud to say I’m still standing, still growing, and still creating a legacy. That’s a lesson I’ll carry forever: your beginning doesn’t define your ceiling.

Any advice for managing a team?
Build your team with intention—hire individuals whose strengths and passions align with your company’s mission, and consider bringing in team members who complement your own areas of growth. This helps create a sense of ownership and purpose. Stay engaged by regularly checking in, celebrating wins, and showing appreciation through gestures like birthday recognition, occasional lunches, or thoughtful raises as the business grows. Offer timely, constructive feedback and be clear on expectations early with a shadowing period to ensure mutual fit. Prioritize communication, gratitude, and growth.
