Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Perry B. Anthony. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Perry B., appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I have had a rough life. I always say because I went to foster care I missed stages of my life and it wasn’t until I was 27 that I feel I had entered my college years. I wore a script of a homeless hitchhiker and decided to live my characters life tweet my adventures and stream my journeys in hopes to get my feature funded. I wish I would have started earlier in life. When I was 8 I started writing a book on the computer. My mom saw a bad word and told me to delete it. I tried to explain I was aiming to reach a bigger audience. She made me delete it. I feel I would have started as a film writer then if I had finished it. But it wasn’t until 2011 when I met Betty White and she told me I should be an actor she’s been in the business for over 60 years and I have exactly what it takes. A couple days later I had a brain injury and was bed ridden for months. That’s when I wrote my first script. When I was healthy I started going on auditions but was too short for the characters stature I was auditioning for. So I wrote a dramedy called Twitterpated. I filmed a short related to it named after my characters twitter handle @AmosntGhan. I never filmed the feature yet, instead I was asked to film other films.
Perry B., before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I guess I always had a business mind at 8 I started selling golf balls to the golfers. As I got into filming I had to figure out how I would find these films because crowdfunding isnt always successful. So I used my side hustle making posters for people’s social media pages and turned it into a multimedia promo marketing business. My business help fund 5 feature films paid for school I took while I was still homeless and paid others to work.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
One year I was hitchhiking through New York state. I fell down a hill and on my way down I got my foot caught in a hole and kept going. I fractured my foot and sprained my ankle. After I went to a hospital I hitchhiked but not really. I got dropped off in the middle of nowhere. In pain and carrying an 80 pound bag it was difficult. I thought to myself I can sit here and die or I could keep moving. It hurts so bad, but I repeated to myself Dedication, Direction, Determination, and Discipline. I repeated that and got up and started moving. To this day I still use that as motivation. As a business owner and a person who helps others achieve their goals and dreams this experience makes it hard for me to except excuses.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One time when I was younger, I was in jail and Katrina happened and I was talking to my mom and said I wish I could just walk to Washington and tell them how they can help everyone. my mother said “You can do anything you set you mind to. You’re good at everything you do. You just quit at the last minute.” I joke and say I’m still homeless because I won’t quit. I could go get a fast food job and have a place in 3 months, but that’s not what I want. Growing up I had 2 to 3 jobs at a time and could barely feed myself and pay rent. I refuse to go back to that, and I refuse to ever rent again. My first place when this is all said and done will be at least one house here in Denver and another one in Austin Texas and NYC. Being homeless and making all this work has me have a different outlook towards money and how to obtain it. I can always make money, but once you give into your dreams to obtain the traction you once had will be harder to recover.

- Other: You can look up In My Head with Perry B. Anthony it’s a podcast I started. I have been recording hundred of podcasts and when all my 5 films are on streaming platforms I’m going to start releasing them rapidly. The last 3 elections I ran for POTUS and when I first started all my streams went from 2k to 5-20 viewers so I will release them to mess up the algorithm that pushes me to the bottom of the scroll.

That’s Rorschach @RorschachThePup my baby!! In 2017 he was stolen by my Vice President running mate and his wife. They thought winter was coming and I’d go back to Texas but I built a camp between Denver and Castle Rock. Would go to Denver to make money to fight for him in Castle Rock. It took me 7 months to win him back and then 3 months to fight and win a violation of protection order charge that I won too. He’ll be 10yrs old in November.
