Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samuel Garcia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Samuel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I am a Respiratory Therapist and work 6 12 hour shifts a week. I needed something new. Inwanted to start a business but was unsure of what I was interested in. My initial idea as to open up a torta shop that was Americanized and using Subway as a blueprint. After researching startup costs, I realized it would be too expensive for me. I aleays wanted to start a clothing brand and with my recent love for motorcycles, I felt it would be the perfect fit. I started my Motorcycle Gear and Apparel company march 2025 and felt it was a risk that needed to be taken. Clutch and Throttle Gear Company was the name I settled on. I took the challenge on as I needed to do something I loved. I not only design and retail my own gear but also retail for other companies and brands. It has been a great experience learning from other business owners and surrounding myself with like-minded people. Not to mention, my customers, my supporters, my friends. They have made the experience even more exciting.

Samuel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started this journey with 0 retail experience. I
had no clue on how to contact companies to create my ideas. How to outsource to factories outside the US. I have minimal artistic skills. I had minimal website building experience. And a photographer? Not even! But now I bust out my Iphone 16 and do photoshoots for my products and list them on my website that I built myself. But i learned to do it all little by little. I knew I wanted to provide quality products with stellar customer service. And I wanted to mimic brands I love. I have loved the process of teaching myself how to build my brand and company.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I like to use other companies or brands as a blueprint as I construct a project I am working on. I take some ideas and make them my own. And adjust to what I think others would like. I have no set schedule on what I am working on. If I have an idea I just start brainstorming and go from there.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is when my customers are satisfied with my products. I try to put forth my best effort when creating s hat for example, I think of what would make my customer happy when they open up that magnetic closed box and see my hat for the first time. And I have gotten nothing but good feedback on my brand and products.
