We were lucky to catch up with Aaron Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I came up with an idea back in November of 2018. This was around the time when everybody was deciding what college or career they were getting into. I knew for me personally I wasn’t really into school at that point, so I had a confused feeling on just what I wanted to do in life. If you knew me though, you would know I loved clothes. During high school I was able to find my style in what I liked in clothing. A close friend had already gave me the thought on starting a brand. It was all on me to just let my ideas flow at this point and see what I could come up with. I then just started sketching designs on how I was feeling and came up with the name PUZZLED. Sometime in January is when I started to get samples made.

Aaron, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Honestly, I wanted to be somebody who wanted to do their own thing. I have a mindset to where I can make impact on what I create. With clothes I wanted to be able to create designs that would make you analyze what you’re looking at. That all ties into the name PUZZLED ONE. When making the brand I was the ONE trying to analyze my life and figure things out. Once I found that, my mindset changed for the better. So with me creating PUZZLED I wanted to show that any individual can break mental barriers in self expression to portray ONES work.
How’d you meet your business partner?
During my time in high school I was able to meet some genuine people. I wasn’t somebody who had to talk to everybody. One of those people I met was Hameed, who shared interest in fashion as well. We both hung around the same group of people so it was natural for me to ask. Hameed was also very good at naturally communicating with people which I knew could benefit the building a brand. Since 2018, Hameed and I have been business partners and are still doing new projects.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There was a time when our manufacturer had delayed a order for 6 months. We had made an order for a project we planned for some time. When I made the order I knew we had to wait about a month for it to be finished completely. Once the 2nd month came the manufacturer told me they were not able to make the products anymore. During those 6 months we had to sell more than we ever have. That gave us time to improve our marketing strategies to improve sales. Which was good us cause at the time, that was one of the things that needed improvement the most.
