We recently connected with Uyi Abraham and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Uyi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
It’s Uyi Abraham here, CEO and Founder of Vonza.
I came to america with $100 and suitcase of clothes.
With over 20 years as a creator, I was frustrated with the complexity and time required to simply create and sell online.
The old way consisted of subscriptions to multiple software and trying to duct-tape them together to run your business. This process was stressful, time and money consuming.
Out of personal pain and frustration, I used up my savings to launch Vonza to make it easy for creators to create and monetize their business online without the need to tie together multiple software and plugins.
My vision is to empower anyone, anywhere to easily run a business online. We’re here for the long haul and just getting started.

Uyi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Uyi Abraham came to America with only $100 and a suitcase of clothes and now founded Vonza.com the first black owned all-in-one software for entrepreneurs and creators to easily start and grow their business online. He grew Vonza.com from Zero to 5,000 customers and $25 Million in valuation in under 2 years. He is a highly sought after speaker, author and business coach. He has been featured on Forbes, CNBC, Yahoo Finance and ABC.
I own a software called Vonza that helps creators, entrepreneurs and small business run and grow their business online.
At Vonza, we’re passionate about creators. We are redefining online business for creators by making it easier, simpler, and more cost-friendly to start or grow a profitable business.
We have been able to serve over 10,000 entrepreneurs in the last 2 years.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When i started Vonza, i spent a lot of time seeking investors but it was futile. It is harder for black entrepreneurs to get funding from venture capitalist and I was one of those who had a difficult time to get funding.
So after spending months with little success, i decided to just fund it myself. I invested all my family savings to start Vonza.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by simply posting value posts that seek to educate and empower my audience. I also try to help as much as I can when i see questions or situations I can help with.
