We recently connected with Latoya Moses and have shared our conversation below.
Latoya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
One of the best ways I’ve shown appreciation to my clients is by consistently striving to master my craft and deliver a high standard of service. For me, excellence in my work is a form of giving; it’s how I honor both my personal values and the trust my clients place in me.
For example, I make it a point to tailor every service specifically to each client’s needs, ensuring they not only feel valued but also experience the best I have to offer. I’ve had clients tell me they felt genuinely cared for, not just as customers, but as individuals. That level of personal attention and quality makes a lasting impact. It’s my way of saying, “I appreciate you and your choice to work with me.”

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
About Me
My name is Toyah Love Moses, and I’m a Master Loctician with a background in braiding, barbering, and health and wellness. My journey began with a passion for hair care as a form of art, self-expression, and healing. Over the years, that passion has evolved into a mission to help clients feel confident, cared for, and seen.
With a strong foundation in Locs, Natural Hair and formal training from barber school, I’ve spent years refining my techniques. I’ve also had the privilege of completing work with respected names in the loc community, including SisterLocks and VMicrolocs addition to my work behind the chair, I’m a proud graduate of a Health and Wellness Institute, which allows me to bring a whole person approach to every client I serve.
What I Offer
I specialize in loc care, maintenance, and styling, with an emphasis on scalp health, precision technique, and long-term hair vitality. My services include starter locs, retwists, interlocking, loc repair, custom styling, and more. Every session is designed not just to enhance your look, but to nourish your hair and spirit.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is the way I combine skill with love. I don’t just provide a service, I provide an atmosphere. I believe that the chair is a place of restoration, empowerment, and transformation. My clients leave not only with beautifully maintained locs, but also with a renewed sense of confidence and peace.
My faith is central to my journey. I believe that my ability to work with my hands and uplift others is a God-given gift, and I honor that gift by giving my best every day. I also incorporate my health and wellness training to support clients in achieving not just healthy hair, but a healthy lifestyle.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my community. Many of my clients come to me after struggling to find someone who truly understands their hair and their vision. When they sit in my chair and finally feel at home, that’s when I know I’m walking in my purpose.
What I Want You to Know
If you’re looking for a Loctician who sees you, listens to you, and truly cares about the health and beauty of your hair, I’m here. I combine technical mastery with heart centered service, and I strive to make every appointment an experience and not just a style. This is more than just hair for me, it’s healing, it’s heritage, and it’s my calling.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met the co-founder during a sabbatical while visiting my mother in Georgia. That trip unexpectedly led me to South Carolina, where I connected with Patrick Moses, a barbershop owner. From our very first conversation, he began pouring into me not just spiritually, but also professionally. He spoke to me about the power of ownership, the importance of legacy, and the business opportunities available in the industry. Our bond grew quickly, and we became not only great friends but trusted partners. That meeting marked a turning point in my journey and the rest, as they say, is history.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Absolutely. One of the greatest examples of resilience in my journey was the six-year period where I traveled across three states to service clients. It was incredibly rewarding, but also physically and emotionally demanding. I was constantly on the road, working long hours, and pouring into others while still trying to pour into myself.
There came a point where I felt led to shift my focus. I made the difficult but necessary decision to stop traveling and concentrate on building a stronger foundation at home. That meant committing to both personal and professional development. I enrolled in school for health and wellness and began training to become a licensed Esthetician, with a specific passion for scalp and hair esthetics.
That transition wasn’t easy; it required faith, sacrifice, and discipline. But it was a turning point that allowed me to grow not just as a Loctician, but as a holistic care provider. Now, I’m combining my years of hands-on experience with formal wellness training to better serve my clients in a deeper, more informed way. To me, resilience is about knowing when to push through and when to pivot with purpose.
