We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mariah Faith. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mariah below.
Mariah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
One of the biggest things my parents did right, especially my mom, was create a foundation of love and resilience, even during hard times. My parents divorced when I was young, and while my relationship with my biological dad has had its ups and downs, my mom always made sure I felt supported and grounded. She raised our family with so much strength, grace, and heart, and that taught me to stay true to myself and keep going no matter what life throws at me.
My stepdad came into my life and showed up in the most consistent and loving way. He didn’t try to take anyone’s place, he just loved me for who I was and stood by me every step of the way. That kind of steady support had a huge impact on the woman I’ve become.
And I can’t talk about my upbringing without mentioning my grandparents. They were my safe space. My grandma’s warmth and my grandpa’s quiet strength gave me the kind of foundation every kid deserves. They helped raise me, and I carry their love with me in everything I do.
The love, support, and values they all poured into me have shaped not just who I am as a person, but the way I approach my music and this journey. I’m grounded because of them and I’m forever grateful. Also having a family that supports you 100% is a game changer. Any time I’ve doubted myself they push me & show me that I’ve not yet met my limits & can do anything I put my mind to. I couldn’t imagine being where I am without all of the love & support they’ve given me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Mariah Faith, a singer-songwriter from South Carolina now living in Tennesee with deep roots in country, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll. I’ve always felt music was a calling, not just a career. I grew up singing in church and anywhere else I could. Whether it was the front porch, school talent shows, or local bar gigs. But it was my journey on American Idol that really opened the door for me to share my voice with the world. Being a Top 20 finalist on Season 21 was surreal! It gave me the platform to tell my story, and more importantly, to connect with people through my music.
As an artist, I don’t just write songs, I tell stories. My music is about real life healing, heartbreak, joy, faith, and everything in between. I want people to feel seen when they hear my lyrics. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable or speak on hard things, because I know someone out there needs to hear it. Whether it’s a live show, a stripped-down acoustic performance, or a fully-produced track, I bring honesty, heart, and soul to everything I do.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend genres in a way that feels natural and true to who I am. My sound reflects all the influences that shaped me growing up, and I lead with authenticity in everything I create.
I’m most proud of the way I’ve stayed true to my roots. I’ve built a career not by chasing trends, but by trusting that authenticity will always resonate. And for anyone new to my music or story, I want you to know that I’m here to create songs that make you feel something. I’m here to show up for my fans the way music showed up for me growing up. And I’m just getting started!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is the connection. Knowing that something I wrote in a moment of joy, heartbreak, or healing can reach someone else and make them feel understood means everything to me. Music has always been how I process life, and to see it become a source of comfort or empowerment for someone else is the biggest blessing.
It’s not about chasing fame or perfection. It’s about making people feel seen, reminding them they’re not alone, and hopefully helping them find a little light through the music. When someone messages me saying a song helped them through something… that’s when I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely. At the heart of everything I do is my family. They’ve sacrificed so much so I could chase this dream, from working extra shifts to helping behind the scenes, to being my biggest cheerleaders through every high and low. My ultimate goal is to be able to give back to them the way they’ve given to me.
Of course I want to grow as an artist, make great music, and reach more people, but more than anything, I want this journey to create a life where I can take care of the people who took care of me. They’ve believed in me even when it was hard to believe in myself, and I carry that with me every time I step on a stage or into a writing session. This isn’t just about me, it’s about honoring everything they poured into me.
