Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trish Ahjel Roberts. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trish Ahjel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you ever had an amazing boss? What did you learn from them? Maybe you can share a story that illustrates the kind of boss they were or maybe you can share your thoughts on what you think made them an awesome person to work for?
The best boss I ever had was when I worked as a Senior Corporate Account Manager for Verizon in New York City. Joe was kind and caring, and he trusted me to get the job done. He didn’t look over my shoulder like a micromanager, but he also didn’t leave me alone to fend for myself. When I needed him, he was there with words of encouragement and access to resources. When I didn’t need his help, he gave me the space I needed to do my best work. I’ve always been the type of person who takes accountability for their actions and advocates strongly for my clients. I remember telling Joe I would take responsibility for a failure of our implementation team. He said, “You don’t have to fall on the sword.” I’ll never forget those words. They taught me that while it’s important to take accountability for my actions and the results of my team, I don’t have to take responsibility or cover up when there is a systemic failure outside of my scope. It was a powerful lesson.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a transformational leadership coach, corporate wellbeing strategist, keynote speaker, and 4x author. I founded my company, Mind-Blowing Happiness® six years ago after working for twelve years as a financial advisor. When I worked at Verizon, my clients were brokerage firms. That’s how I got interested in finance. But I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit—one that led to roles in account management and business development across telecommunications and finance, and eventually to owning a women’s fitness center in Brooklyn, NY, for four years.
Becoming an entrepreneur for the second time in the personal and professional development space was a natural progression. It combines years of experience and interest in mental and physical health and wellbeing with what I learned from decades working for large corporations like American Express, Revlon, Merrill Lynch, and JP Morgan.
People are stressed out, and it’s damaging their health and their quality of life – even when they have beautiful clothes, fancy cars, and spacious houses.
I started my business with one-on-one coaching, group coaching programs, and wellness retreats. Now, I bring all of that directly to organizations by helping companies cultivate emotional intelligence and elevate their women leaders. I deliver authentic leadership development trainings, immersive well-being programs, and dynamic keynotes — all thoughtfully customized to support each organization’s goals, whether that means addressing imposter syndrome, managing fatigue, improving retention, reducing workplace frustration, helping teams recover from burnout, or boosting overall engagement and morale.
I’m most proud of the original content I offer through my books, “12 Steps to Mind-Blowing Happiness” and “The Anger Myth.” My work is deeply rooted in Buddhist and yogic philosophy, life-coaching strategies, and therapeutic techniques. As a trained yoga and meditation instructor, I create space for emotional processing while guiding clients through meditation, visualization, and breathwork. These practices add dimension to my trainings—helping participants move beyond simply listening and learning to actually feeling internal shifts they can carry back into their teams.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?
In addition to my work as a coach, wellbeing strategist, and speaker, my experience as a 4x author has opened the door to a second revenue stream: book coaching. For the past four years, I’ve helped dozens of aspiring and established authors write, refine, and publish their books. While it may seem like a separate specialty, it’s deeply connected to my core mission.
People who feel called to write books are leaders—whether professionally, creatively, or through thought leadership. The journey to becoming a published author requires vulnerability, clarity, and courage. It challenges you to overcome imposter syndrome, define your message, and step fully into your voice and authority. It’s powerful, transformational work—and I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and emotional intelligence to guide authors through every step of the process.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I offer a weekly newsletter called Mind-Blowing Monday 123. Every Monday morning, I share 1 quote, 2 questions, and 3 ways to lead with joy for the week ahead. It’s a 3-minute, actionable read that helps my audience start the week with intention and inspiration.
I also foster connection through free membership in the Mind-Blowing Happiness® Circle, where I host live virtual sessions at lunchtime on the last Thursday of the month, which include meditation, breathwork, and mindset guidance for the month ahead.
I stay active on LinkedIn, sharing thought leadership content and engaging in real-time conversations. I recently did 30 days of live LinkedIn content going through all 12 steps to Mind-Blowing Happiness®, all 5 steps in the Tame and Reframe™ method to transform anger, all of the 8 Main Life Areas, and more.
By combining consistent value through content with opportunities for authentic, personal connection, I create a sense of community and trust that keeps clients engaged long after a single event or session. Whether they’re reading a book, attending a workshop, or watching a livestream, my audience knows they have ongoing access to tools, insights, and support that help them grow both personally and professionally.
