We were lucky to catch up with Veronica Harvey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Veronica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
After struggling to find a solution for my son who suffered from Dermatitis, I founded B.C. Body Butter in 2021. My son, Cameron had been experiencing some concerning breakouts that made him very uncomfortable due to the persistent itchiness and discomfort from the rashes. After countless visits to the Dermatologist, Allergen specialist, and being prescribed various topical steroid creams that didn’t work for him, I knew there had to be another way, a healthier way, to help his skin. I began experimenting in my kitchen with all natural butters and essential oils to develop a solution to heal his skin;
AND IT WORKED! After carefully studying his skin and seeing major improvements, I began providing sample products to family, friends, and all in need of a natural solution for healthy skin, and they fell in love with my product line; due to its natural healing properties. Overwhelmed with emotions, because not only did my products tremendously heal my son’s skin, but healing other people’s skin care concerns was very humbling and exciting, and truly encouraged me to dive in deeper into natural products and overall skin care!
Creating a product that is not only healing, but safe was my main goal when I started my skincare brand. This is especially important for those with melanated skin tones, because they are more prone to drier skin, but don’t have many skincare brands that cater to the needs of their skin. And although our products are made for all skin; having access to a skincare line that considers the health and importance of treating black and brown skin is very important to our brand. We take pride in our products because they are much safer and healthier for the skin than traditional skincare products. With so many current, well trusted skincare products and brands being exposed for using toxic and unsafe ingredients in their products, B.C. Body Butter (V. Estell Skin care) takes pride in creating a brand that prioritizes the health and wellness of our consumers, and creates products that are chemical free, home made, and overall amazing!
Since creating this skincare brand and falling in love with overall skin health, I became a licensed Esthetician and opened a beauty and wellness Spa (V. Estell Beauty and Wellness) focusing on natural skincare and over all skin correction.

Veronica , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Veronica Harvey, and I am the founder of V. Estell Beauty and Wellness, a Beauty and Wellness Spa that promotes beauty, healing, and healthy skin! I’m also the creator of B.C. Body Butter, a natural skincare line born from personal experience and passion, though eventually the name will be changing to V. Estell Skincare to better fit my brand.
My journey into the beauty and wellness industry began in 2021, when my son experienced a persistent skincare issue that traditional medicine and dermatology couldn’t resolve. As a mother determined to find a solution, I turned to natural skincare ingredients, and began formulating products in my own kitchen. That experience sparked a deep love for natural skincare, and ultimately led to the launch of my skincare brand and my Spa business.
At V. Estell Beauty and Wellness, we offer esthetics services including corrective facials, full-body waxing, eyebrow artistry, and natural skin care products: all with a strong emphasis on skin health, wellness, and professional care. We also host spa events, empowerment gatherings, and offer esthetician apprenticeships to help raise the next generation of beauty professionals.
What sets us apart is our faith-based foundation, our commitment to wellness from the inside out, and our personalized, results-driven approach to healing skincare concerns and pampering our amazing clients. I don’t believe in quick fixes, just effective results! I believe in treating the root of the issue and creating lasting change, all while promoting self-confidence and self-love in my clients.
I’m most proud of building something meaningful from scratch, starting with prayer, a purpose, and a product, and turning it into a full-service spa and skincare brand; to create an overall safe place for all who needs some skincare TLC! I’m also proud of being a vessel for the Lord, and a light to others while on this journey, whether they’re clients or student apprentices; helping them walk boldly in their beauty and calling.
If there’s one thing I want potential clients and followers to know, it’s that V. Estell isn’t just a spa—it’s an experience! And everything we do is done with purpose and intent! We’re here to help you feel restored, healthier, and overall renewed—inside and out.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining chapters of my journey, and a true testament to resilience was balancing life as a full-time production operator at Chrysler, being a mother of three, and trying to build a skincare brand and from the ground up.
There was a season when I became seriously ill with a gut issue that left me in constant pain and exhaustion. It made it nearly impossible to keep up with the growing demand for my natural skincare products. Yet. still I didn’t give up on my purpose; I actually dived in deeper and went to beauty school to obtain more knowledge of skincare, and became a Licensed Esthetician! Once licensed, life picked up for me even more, when I was lead to find a safe space to create my products, because home was no longer able to accommodate my growing business; especially once I was licensed to take clients for skincare services. Once I found my new Spa home, the REAL WORK began, and I found myself pouring literally everything I had, physically, emotionally, and financially, into building V. Estell Beauty and Wellness. With no business loans or major funding, I relied on Facebook marketplace finds, thrift stores, and my own two hands to furnish and build out my spa. Every room, every floor, and even my product display shelf carries a piece of my sacrifice and dedication to finishing what I started, and creating a safe space for all my clients.
There were days I felt like giving up, losing customers due to having to focus more on building the spa, sometimes lacking on keeping my skincare products in stock, being overlooked on social media and struggling with visibility, etc. Yet, I stayed true to myself, my brand, and the vision God gave me. I knew this was bigger than me. It was a calling. And it was truly purpose driven!
Making the bold decision to walk away from my full-time job, I didn’t have all the answers, and I didn’t know how I’d make ends meet long-term, but I chose to trust God, myself, and my business to provide for my family. I believed in the power of what I was building: a space for healing, beauty, and purpose. Not just for my clients, but for myself too.
What I’ve learned is this: resilience isn’t always loud or glamorous. Sometimes, it’s quiet obedience. It’s pushing through the pain, doing what you can with what you have, and showing up for the vision; even when no one’s clapping. And for that, I am incredibly proud.
If my story shows anything, it’s that with faith, perseverance, and purpose, you can build something beautiful from the most broken places.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of my first major pivots was when I stopped relying solely on doctors for answers and began creating my own natural skincare products. My son was dealing with a persistent skin issue that nothing seemed to resolve. But deep down, I knew there had to be another way. That’s when I took matters into my own hands, researching natural ingredients, testing formulations, and listening to what his skin really needed. That decision sparked the birth of my skincare line and was the first step towards a brand that’s now helping others to heal as well.
As I evolved, so did my products, and my brand over all. I had to learn what my customers liked and disliked, but most importantly what products and ingredients were overall best for my brand, and make adjustments as needed; learning through trial and error, and staying committed to quality and integrity no matter what. Each batch of shea butter that I made taught me something new about the healing power of nature and the importance of staying flexible in creation.
After spending 10 years in the automotive industry, I took another bold pivot and I enrolled in beauty school. That decision wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. I knew that if I wanted to truly understand skin and offer more than just products, I needed more education. Becoming a Licensed Esthetician opened new doors for me to serve others on a deeper level, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
I also had to pivot my brand name. What started as something simple grew into a vision that needed a name with more meaning and direction. That’s how V. Estell Beauty and Wellness was born; a name rooted in purpose, professionalism, and faith. It represents not just beauty, but healing, education, and spiritual growth. And most importantly, it’s a true reflection of who I am, stemming from my first and middle name, and what I’m passionate about, which is overall beauty and wellness, inside out.
Then came the biggest pivot of all—building a full-service spa with extremely limited resources. No loans. No investors. Just obedience, my faith, thrift store gems, and the will to make it happen. Every wall painted, every room designed, every decision made was a reflection of resourcefulness and GRIT! I didn’t let what I didn’t have stop me from building what I knew was meant to be.
Each pivot in my journey wasn’t a setback! They were a redirection. A chance to align more deeply with my purpose, sharpen my skills, and prove to myself and others that hard work, dedication, and obedience to the Lord truly does pay off! Also, that I’m capable of anything I commit to—with faith, resilience, and unwavering vision.
