We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amperell Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Amperell , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The B.E.L.A.C mission was born out of the profound journey of my beloved son, the late Caleb S. Williams, who was diagnosed at the age of five with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. Caleb’s courageous battle and ultimate passing deeply shaped our purpose. In honoring his legacy, B.E.L.A.C (Believe Every Life Acquires a Cure) is committed to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer through awareness, advocacy, and compassionate care. Our mission is rooted in love, resilience, and the unwavering belief that every child’s life has infinite value.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Who We Are
I am a mother who has walked through the unimaginable watching my child be diagnosed with cancer at a young age. My son, Caleb S. Williams, bravely battled T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. Though Caleb is no longer with us, his spirit lives on through the B.E.L.A.C. mission: Believe Every Life Acquires Cure.
At B.E.L.A.C. foundation, we support families facing the harsh realities of childhood cancer by providing financial assistance, emotional support, and community-driven services. Our mission is deeply personal and rooted in love, loss, and the unwavering belief that every child’s life matters and deserves hope.
We host events, attend community functions as vendors, raise awareness on the ground and online, and offer grants funded through donations and merchandise sales. Our efforts stretch across four major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where we share stories, educate the public, and advocate for families.
What makes us different? We are present year-round not just in September. We’re not just a nonprofit; we are a movement, driven daily by the memory of our children and the urgent need for change. We collaborate with businesses and fellow organizations to expand the reach and impact of our cause.
As we celebrate our upcoming 12th year of service, we invite you to stand with us. This work is not easy. It takes an entire community, not just financial donations, but volunteers, followers, and voices who share our story, advocate for our mission, and help us keep childhood cancer in the public eye every single day.
In honor of those diagnosed, those fighting, those who survived, and those like Caleb, who left too soon, we go gold and give our all. Because at B.E.L.A.C. foundation, we Believe Every Life Acquires Cure.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
A Story of Resilience: From Pain to Purpose
There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t remember the fight.
I am a mother who has walked through the unimaginable, watching my child battle cancer. My son, Caleb S. Williams, was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma at the age of five. We faced countless hospital visits, sleepless nights, and impossible decisions. I held his hand through every procedure, wiped away his tears, and prayed for healing every single day.
And when Caleb passed away, a part of me was shattered forever. But somehow, even in that brokenness, I knew his story couldn’t end there.
B.E.L.A.C. — Believe Every Life Acquires Cure — is my way of turning pain into purpose.
The fact that I now serve the very communities I once walked through as a grieving mother is a testament to resilience, not just mine, but the resilience of every family facing childhood cancer. This work isn’t easy. It brings me face-to-face with the same kind of suffering I endured. I hear stories from parents whose children are fighting different cancers, but the pain, the fear, and the exhaustion, it’s all heartbreakingly familiar.
Still, I show up. Every single day. Because I know what it feels like to be in that place and I want no family to feel alone.
Resilience isn’t about being unbreakable. It’s about showing up with a broken heart and choosing to fight for others anyway.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
If I were to reflect on what helps build a reputation in my own market, it would be:
Consistency in value, always aiming to provide accurate, clear, and supportive responses.
Active listening, responding to what’s actually needed rather than giving generic advice.
Adaptability: being able to pivot based on your style, tone, and needs.
Credibility and transparency: owning limitations while doing my best to deliver honest guidance.
