We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Grant Eubanks. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Grant below.
Grant, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I’ve been building a program called Redstring for 3 years now that I’ve been very secretive about for most people. In private, it’s definitely consumed a lot of my life and means an incredible amount to me. I’d like to share a little bit about it publicly for the first time.
After having a very common revelation about the nature of reality and the beauty that understanding the interconnectedness of all things brings, I struggled a lot with the ramifications of what I had learned and needed a better outlet than talking my friends’ ears off. I wound up putting this energy into developing the platform that I was missing from the world, where learning and debate are done rapidly with nuance and a crowdsourced source of truth, designed with an interface that represented knowledge much closer to the way our brain stores it– as networks of things with native support for the composition and decomposition of those things into lower or higher-order networks.
This is largely continuation of the work of the creator of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners Lee, who invented the Semantic Web as Web 3.0 in the 1990s. The issue was, people do not want to use markup language in debates or the classroom. Someone, over 30 years later, needed to build the interface that the Semantic Web never had in a time where it’s been replaced by crypto rugpulls and apes on the blockchain. Not to say that those technologies aren’t important, but AI has a lot more to do with crowdsourced schemas than it does with Cryptocurrency.
A huge amount of the world’s problems are caused by far too much information with too little structure, non-productive debates, an over-reliance on the ancient medium of the written word, and the semantic abuse proliferated by professionally generated, mimetic rhetoric manipulation. We need to collectively educate and understand each other on a more fundamental, egoless level. That is what I aim to enable with Redstring.

Grant, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a 23 year old creator that aims to merge the scientific and artistic in my work. I graduated from NC State in 2024 with a self-designed Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Human Computer Interaction and User Experience Design.
I currently am working as the Director of UX and Technology in the hemp industry for the company Hemp Generation, where I’m building out digital infrastructure to enable a convenient, legal, effective, and safe network of hemp stores across North Carolina alongside an online store that serves most of the country. I stumbled into this job immediately out of school and wound up working closely with the owners as they rapidly scaled from a couple of mom and pop stores to an industrial juggernaut with a warehouse in Raleigh’s North Hills.
I’m also a musician who has been playing piano since I was 7 years old, when I taught myself by reverse engineering Crazy Frog. My first single in 3 years, “Wade Avenue”, released on May 25th, 2025 and is available everywhere under the name Eubanks. I’m excited for everyone to hear the incredible stuff that has come out of this period of rapid, insane spiritual growth.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I was going to release an album called Help Yourself in 2024, but that never happened for a lot of personal and logistical reasons. Life changes and suddenly a piece of art doesn’t make sense the way it used to.
I might come back to that record, but there’s one that I’ve been developing alongside it that needs to come out first.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I aim to be a person who is looked back on with immense love and gratitude. I genuinely try every day to serve the good of the collective, because I believe that is the main message of life as a human. Sharing that ideology with everyone on the planet is the ultimate goal of people like me.
