Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stract. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Stract, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I learned everything I do through passion and necessity. It started with piano lessons at eight, driven by curiosity. That early foundation in music theory led me to producing beats, which led me to mixing, and eventually to writing and recording my own songs. At 17, I couldn’t afford to pay a producer or engineer — so I became both.
Looking back, I’d tell my younger self: don’t be afraid to get messy. Don’t overthink the “right” way to create. Trial and error was my best teacher — every wall I hit taught me how to climb.
The most valuable skill I’ve developed is attention to detail. It’s the little things — like the reverb on a vocal, a single word in a verse, or the way a snare hits — that shape the final product. Every detail is a pixel in the bigger picture. That mindset has influenced everything I do — from writing to engineering.
As for obstacles, honestly, there aren’t many anymore. If you want to learn something, the knowledge is out there for free. The only real obstacle is not being willing to try.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Stract — an artist, producer, and engineer from Los Angeles.
My music is a time capsule — preserving emotions, memories, and moments through sound. From lo-fi textures and filtered samples to boom-bap drums, heartfelt lyrics, and meticulous mixing, every part of my process is rooted in passion and precision. I create with intention — honest, vulnerable, and grounded in the life I live.
I started with nothing but curiosity and drive. I began making music as a teen, studying legends like 9th Wonder to understand the soul behind the drums, and lyricists like Eminem to learn how to structure raps with intention, rhythm, and precision. Every skill was born out of necessity — and sharpened by a deep love for the craft of hip-hop.
I’m obsessed with the details — the way a vocal sits in the mix, the pocket of a sample under the drums, the final bar that ties a verse together. That comes from a desire to create at my highest level — and it’s that same drive that inspired me to build something bigger than myself.
That’s why I founded Prosperous Music Group — an independent label and creative home for artists who take their music seriously. PMG provides professional mixing, mastering, and digital distribution — but more than that, it’s built on the same care and creative standards I hold for my own work.
What sets me apart is the intention I bring to every part of the process. I don’t stop until the vision feels complete — whether it’s mine or someone else’s. I’m proud of the trust I’ve built with artists who know I’ll treat their music with the same heart and respect I give my own.
At my core, I’m an artist — purpose-driven, detail-obsessed, and committed to creating timeless work.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
For me, the mission is to create music that’s timeless — not just trending.
I want every song I make to reflect a real emotion, a real chapter of my life. Whether it’s love, pain, growth, or something in between, I want people to feel it — and still feel it years from now.
My journey has always been about independence and self-expression. I taught myself to produce, write, and engineer so I could tell my story exactly how I hear it in my head — without compromise. That mindset now extends beyond my own work — it’s the foundation of how I collaborate, support, and build with other artists through Prosperous Music Group, my independent label and creative platform.
At the core, my mission is about ownership — not just of my sound, but of my voice, my identity, and my impact. I want to inspire people to take their creativity seriously, to build something real, and to stay rooted in who they are — even in an industry that often prioritizes image over authenticity.
If my music can help someone feel seen, if I can create art that outlives the moment, and if I can empower others along the way — then I’m doing what I was meant to do.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part is seeing something that once only existed in my head — a melody, a lyric, a feeling — become a full song that resonates with people.
To know that something I created in a quiet moment, just me and my thoughts, can reach someone I’ve never met and make them feel understood… that’s what it’s all about.
One moment that really stuck with me was performing “4 My Girl” live at the 626 Night Market. After the show, a fan came up to me — he didn’t even know I was performing that night, but when he heard the song on stage, he recognized it instantly. He was stoked, showed me he already had it saved in his playlist, and told me how much he loved it. That moment meant a lot to me.
“4 My Girl” came from emotions I didn’t know how else to express — and seeing that it reached someone, even before I did, reminded me of what music is capable of. That’s the magic: the connection. When something personal becomes part of someone else’s life — like a soundtrack — it’s humbling, and it’s everything I could ever ask for as an artist.
I think that’s the real gift of being a creative: turning your own experiences into something meaningful for someone else. That connection — where your story becomes their soundtrack — is the most powerful reward there is.
