We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dorit Schwartz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dorit below.
Dorit , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
The first dollar I earned as a creative felt like the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life. I was the featured artist at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas — a moment I had dreamed of for years. As I made my way to the gallery, I was approached by the art curator, who informed me that a couple from England was interested in one of my sculptures and wished to have it shipped to their one of their resident in Zurich.
When I arrived, I noticed a gentleman admiring one of the largest pieces I had ever created. There was a quiet intensity in the way he studied the sculpture, as if he could feel the emotion and vision. In time, he purchased the sculpture and requested it be shipped to his corporate office in London.
That moment was surreal. Not just because of the sale — but because I was witnessing my work resonate across continents. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting the buyer, Mr. Mattel, the largest steel trader in the industry. The piece sold for $24,000. I felt validated, seen, and deeply inspired. That first major sale was more than just a transaction; it was a stamp of identity — a turning point that affirmed I belonged in the world of fine art. From that day forward, my sculptures began to travel the world, each one carrying a piece of my journey.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Dorit Schwartz. I’m a sculptor, but more than that, I’m someone who’s always been drawn to the emotional energy that lives in natural materials. My work is all about combining elements like reclaimed wood, crystals, and steel to create pieces that feel alive that hold a story, a presence.
I always had the love of bringing the nature indoor. It was my own personal journey through healing, reflection, and exploring the unseen that led me to sculpture. Once I started working with wood and stone and light, something clicked. I knew this was how I wanted to speak to the world.
These days, I create sculptures that are both modern and grounded in nature. My Light Within Collection is a good example it’s all about finding calm in the chaos, using natural elements to help people reconnect with something deeper. Every piece is built with intention and soul, whether it ends up in someone’s home, office, or gallery space.
What sets my work apart? I think it’s the emotional layering the mix of strength and softness, organic and industrial. And I’m proud that my sculptures have found homes all over the world from Las Vegas to London, Zurich, and beyond.
At the heart of it, I just want to create work that makes people feel something: grounded, inspired, maybe even a little more connected to themselves.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When the idea comes to you it needs to manifest through you. I once had a vision for a piece that kept falling apart wrong materials, constant delays, everyone saying it wouldn’t work. But I knew it needed to exist. I stayed with it, reshaped it, reimagined it and in the end, it became one of my most powerful works.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
At the heart of my creative journey is a deep spiritual calling to reconnect people with the quiet wisdom of nature, and the light that lives within all of us.
I’m constantly inspired by the organic world the way wood carries time in its rings, how crystals hold energy, how even broken or weathered materials still have beauty and purpose. I don’t just work with these elements. I listen to them.
My mission is to create art that helps people pause, reflect, and feel grounded like a breath of stillness in a busy world. The use of light in my sculptures isn’t just aesthetic; it’s symbolic. It speaks to inner healing, clarity, and connection to ourselves, to others, to something greater than us.
So yes, spirituality, nature, and organic materials guide everything I do. They remind me and I hope others that beauty isn’t found in perfection, but in truth, texture, and presence.
