Our Google reviews consistently highlight the outstanding experience customers have—from rapid, thorough communication to flawless packaging and follow-up. Many customers say they would rate us higher than five stars if possible, and they return for additional orders because of the exceptional service and craftsmanship they receive

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My background is actually in healthcare finance—I worked as a financial controller for several years. But everything changed when a close friend and colleague, Eli Polite, introduced me to the art of making custom handgun grips. I was immediately hooked by the craftsmanship and creativity involved. It inspired me so much that I decided to leave my corporate career behind and launch Mammoth Grip Exchange.
What truly sets my work apart is the level of personalization and care I bring to every project. I specialize in crafting custom grips, often based on unique requests or specific challenges that customers face. Over time, I’ve even developed a proprietary process to enhance the durability and longevity of my mammoth ivory grips, which is something you won’t find anywhere else.
Customer service is at the heart of my business. I’m proud to say that many of my customers describe my service as second to none, and I have a loyal base of repeat buyers who appreciate the attention to detail and communication throughout the process.
Of course, building and marketing the business has been a learning curve, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. What I’m most proud of are the products I create and the relationships I’ve built—not just with my customers, but also through collaborations with other talented craftsmen in the industry. Those connections and the positive feedback from my clients are what motivate me every day.

How’d you meet your business partner?
My passion for firearms and their aesthetics really inspired my journey. I’ve always loved guns and wanted to enhance their appearance, so I started collecting mammoth ivory grips from various makers. Over time, I found myself buying quite a few from Eli, who not only had great craftsmanship but also became a good friend.
When I decided to leave my professional business career, Eli and I began collaborating more closely on grip making. I founded Mammoth Grip Exchange and even flew out to Delaware to learn the craft firsthand with Eli. That hands-on experience was invaluable.
Today, we specialize in custom, handmade grips for 1911 handguns, and we’re excited to be expanding into grips for other firearm models as well. It’s been a rewarding journey, combining my love for firearms with the art of custom craftsmanship.

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
Yes, I strongly believe that a successful business can’t rely on just one focus. Over the years, I’ve developed several partnerships that have allowed Mammoth Grip Exchange to offer a diverse range of products and services.
For example, I partnered with Eli, who taught me the craft of making custom gun grips. I also work closely with Eric, who creates custom 1911 triggers from Damascus steel and Timascus—his work adds both beauty and performance to our customers’ firearms.
In addition, I collaborate with Jerry, who makes some of the finest gun stands in the industry. If someone wants to display a unique firearm, we offer fully customizable stands—customers can choose the color, add logos, and even adjust the storage capacity to fit their needs.
For art and engraving, I’ve partnered with Josof Falukozl, a master scrimshaw artist from Hungary. His scrimshaw work is so detailed and realistic, it often looks like a black-and-white photograph. For engraving, I work with Eddie V., who has over 20 years of experience and a background in jewelry. All of Eddie’s engraving is done by hand, ensuring every piece is a true work of art.
Currently, I’m also collaborating with a local shop to develop my own line of custom grip screws. These will not only complement the grips I make but also enhance the overall appearance of any pistol.
These partnerships and product lines allow us to serve a wide range of customer needs while ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship in everything we offer.
