We were lucky to catch up with Taylor Birgfeld recently and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
When we felt called to this realm of work, I was continuously drawn to the book of Ecclesiastes. Which, if you’ve read it, feels extremely depressing in the beginning. In fact, the very beginning goes on about meaninglessness. However, I felt continuously drawn to it and after a few reads, found that it harps on the “meaninglessness” in life so that you can feel drawn to find joy in your life. That means joy in your work and gratefulness to God for the gifts given to you. It speaks of using your “job” to work towards something greater. Within Ecclesiastes is the famous “threefold chord” quote, that you might have heard at a wedding ceremony. Which speaks of the importance of weaving God into your relationships. Both marital and within your community. At Threefold, we value our community and our team beyond words. They are what have made us who we are, and given us the grace and chance to grow and achieve. Collectively, as a team, we work to weave kindness and love for others within our work everyday. We aim to ENJOY our work and bring others to success through it. So, Threefold came to fruition.

Taylor, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
When I was a teenager, there wasn’t a day you would find me without a camera in my hand. I loved videography and dreamed that one day I’d go to college and set off to the film industry where I would meet “my” people. The people that would make me feel whole and seen. It turned out to be the exact opposite, and within my first year of college – I dropped out.
After a few months searching for videographer jobs, I realized that little to nothing existed in my area, but I didn’t want to leave home. So I bought a secondhand camera off of Ebay using waitressing money, and started a videography business. Which turned to primarily photography over time. For 7 years I was a wedding photographer. When I opened my studio in October of 2022, I began offering mentoring with a colleague within a business called The Tayem Photo Co. For 3 years we did photographer education, then creative business education – teaching creatives how to turn their hobby into a full time career with powerful branding and business strategy. Over time, we began serving all businesses. And at the beginning of 2025, my partner stepped down and turned the business over to me… where it became Threefold.
Now, we have a team of 8 incredible creatives that work under Threefold. We help businesses build strong brands through education/mentorship, as well as help them create the corresponding visuals for success. We currently employ 4 photographers, a videographer, 2 graphic designers, and myself who serves as the brand consultant and oversees all operations and guides our team.
Collectively, we are educated in a unique branding outlook that we believe will empower every brand to communicate their offerings more clearly. Your marketing, your website, your social media posts… they’re all null & void without a clear and concise brand voice and visual brand. Customers shut down when they don’t feel like your words apply to them, and they won’t work very hard to figure out if you’re talking to them. We help businesses create strong brands and visuals so that they can market themselves more effectively in a way their clients understand and respond to.
Every member of our team was hand selected because they invested in their education and proved themselves caring and considerate individuals while we were still Tayem. They offered helping hands to others, gave advice, and continuously worked to increase their business education. Each and every one goes above and beyond to create a great client experience and cares deeply about the success of others. We go by the motto at Threefold that when we care more about our clients success than our success – that is the only way we can serve them with our whole heart.
Our team is the lifeblood of our business, but our client experience is a close second. We aim to create a branding experience that not only creates FOR you and acts as your own personal ” brand marketing team” all in one place, but we also believe in educating you. Your investment with Threefold is not something we take lightly. We want to educate our clients to utilize the tools we give them and create for them far beyond when we say our goodbyes. We encourage clients to revisit us when they grow or seek advice within a low period. And we nurture previous clients through resources and updates within the industry. This way, your business can KEEP growing because of the tools you’ve learned to implement during your time with Threefold.
Here at Threefold, working with my team and with our purpose-driven clients, I have found those people I longed for when I went to college all those years ago. I feel safe, seen, and empowered. And THAT is what we aim to provide to our clients. We see your struggles and your endless ambition, and we aim to be your guide through your growth and give you tangible steps and guidance to building a brand that your clients will respond to. Your brand is your businesses foundation, and we want to help you build it well.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
When we first opened this business, it was under a different name with different ideal clients: photographers. For three years, we kicked open the door to photographer education in a saturated market. We shared everything we knew, guided everyone we could, and created resources where resources were nonexistent. We shared the narrative over and over that, even within a saturated market, someone else’s success does not take away from your success. So much so, that it became second nature to turn to us. Now, our team is compromised of people specifically chosen for their dedication to that narrative. There is room for ALL of us to succeed. And we can grow by lifting others up as we rise. Our reputation precedes us in the creative industry, and that has allowed us to make connections openly with businesses of all types that know we are equally invested in their success.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I struggled initially going from a one-woman show to a team of 8, and sought the same advice myself. It came down to treating your team with the same respect and consideration as you treat your clients. Good team members don’t cost you money, they aren’t a burden or a liability. They are the beating heart of your business. When you treat them with the respect that is due, and offer them roles worthy of their skill… you create a team dedicated to success. Work will never not feel like work, but the difference in a productive workplace often lies with YOU at the top. We curate beautiful client experiences, but what experience are we curating for our team within our walls? As creatives, I think we’ve all sought the freedom of self-employment – often driven by the desire to escape an oppressive work lifestyle and the constant wonder of “what could be” if only we dared. Supporting your team is caring for your business. A team that feels cared for CARES.
