We recently connected with Kellie Batts and have shared our conversation below.
Kellie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
The legacy I hope to build is one rooted in faith, honesty, and real connection. I want people to say that I made them feel seen—that I listened without judgment, encouraged them to trust themselves, and reminded them that they already have what they need inside of them. Sometimes we just need someone to say, “Hey, you’re not crazy—you’re just figuring it out.”
I hope people remember me as someone who loved deeply and showed up fully, even when life got messy. Someone who could laugh through the chaos, share truth with a little twist of humor, and make space for others to be exactly who they are—no masks, no performance.
At the heart of it all, I want to be remembered for building genuine relationships and pointing people back to both their faith in God and belief in themselves. If my journey through chronic illness, neurodivergence, creativity, and all helps even one person feel less alone or more brave, then that’s a legacy I’m proud to leave.

Kellie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Absolutely! My journey into the creative world has been anything but traditional, but every twist and turn has led me to where I am today. I started out running a virtual assistance business, drawing on 16 years of administrative experience. While I appreciated supporting clients and keeping things organized behind the scenes, I eventually realized it wasn’t my passion—it was just something I could do, not something I loved doing. That realization pushed me to close that chapter and make space for something more aligned with who I truly am.
Nearly two years later, I had a moment of clarity—I remembered how much I used to love writing fiction as a kid. I had stacks of journals full of short stories, some written for school, others just for fun. With constant encouragement from my husband (who’s always believed in my creativity even when I forgot about it), I enrolled in the Creative Writing Certificate Program at Full Sail University in June 2024. That decision changed everything.
The program didn’t just reconnect me with writing—it opened me up to the world of visual and audio storytelling. Around that same time, I had the opportunity to work with an India-based company called Headfones, where I did voiceover acting for several of their in-house audiobooks. That experience showed me how powerful the spoken word could be, and it planted the seed for something even bigger.
I run LivingLikeK, a personal brand on Instagram that’s about showing up as your full self—quirks, chaos, chronic illness, and all. Living with Multiple Sclerosis and ADHD has shaped the way I work and create, but it’s also given me a deep appreciation for storytelling that’s real, raw, and relatable.
What sets me apart is my mix of lived experience, creative grit, and the ability to pivot when life demands it. I’m most proud of the fact that I kept going—even when I didn’t know where I was headed—and that I’m now creating something that blends my skills with my heart.
For anyone discovering me or following along: I want you to know that it’s never too late to rewrite your story. Whether it’s through a character voice, a podcast script, or a late-night writing session filled with cups of coffee, this journey is about embracing who you are and creating from that place with intention and joy
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Enrolling at Full Sail University was one of the scariest—and most transformative—decisions I’ve ever made. Growing up, I was a decent student, but school was always a struggle. In college, I did okay in subjects like English and art history, but if something didn’t grab my interest right away, I checked out. I now know that I spent 33 years of my life undiagnosed with ADHD, and looking back, it makes so much sense. I wasn’t lazy or “not trying hard enough”—I just wasn’t wired to thrive in traditional learning environments.
Before Full Sail, I’d never earned higher than a 2.5 GPA, and at other colleges, I would often find myself on academic probation. I’d zone out during lectures, misinterpret instructions, and constantly felt like I was falling behind. But when I started at Full Sail, it was like something clicked. They present content in such a visual, hands-on way—it felt like they got how my brain worked. For the first time in my academic life, I felt capable. I was able to fully engage, understand, and enjoy what I was learning.
I graduated in December 2024 with a 3.6 GPA. That’s not just a number to me—it’s a symbol of my resilience.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely! My mission is to create safe spaces—through stories, sound, and shared experiences—where people feel seen. Whether I’m writing fiction, doing voiceover work, or sharing real-life reflections under my brand LivingLikeK, I want people to know they’re not alone in their mess, their wonder, or their “figuring it out” season.
As someone living with ADHD and Multiple Sclerosis, I know what it feels like to be misunderstood, dismissed, or overlooked. My creative journey is driven by the desire to flip that narrative—not just for myself, but for others. I want to build a media company that uplifts unique voices, brings stories to life through audio and writing, and shows people that you don’t need to fit a mold to make meaningful art.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that there’s power in telling you’re truth, even when it’s a little messy. If my work can encourage someone to embrace their quirks, own their story, and live boldly in their lane, then I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do.
