Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. Quality control is a challenge almost every entrepreneur has had to focus on when growing – any advice, stories or insight around how to best ensure quality is maintained as your business scales?
Here at Good Vibes Lounge, we try to make each experience better than the one before. We host and organize several events per month such as sip and paint, comedy shows, themed nights, etc as well as relying on our customer base to let us know what they would like to see brought to the city so we can host it at Good Vibes. Our number one goal always is to provide outstanding customer service
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The owners of Good Vibes Lounge which include myself, my husband and my best friend birthed the idea after my husband and I owned a mobile hookah business for 3 years that we franchised in several cities nationwide. We are all veterans (my husband is still active duty military) and we have been to hookah lounge all around the world so we wanted to extend that passion to owning our own. We decided that we wanted to open our first brick and mortar business to the city of Saint Cloud. We designed our lounge exactly how we would hope a lounge to be when we decided to visit-spacious (almost 2800 sq ft), welcoming, aesthetically pleasing and oozing of Good Vibes!
We are also a venue for private event rentals. Our spacious and open lounge is an event decorator’s dream to bring their client’s vision to reality.
Whether you’re visiting on a regular night or for a private event, we want to ensure that all customers are comfortable and that they leave feeling better than they arrived.
We also try to incorporate other local small businesses into our vision as much as possible whether it be partnering with local professional organizations, chefs/caterers, bakers, entertainment industry professionals, etc-we know that our customers as well as our professional partners are priceless.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The process of opening Good Vibes was no easy feat. We are located in a brand new plaza that was just built the same year that we opened. That was not without its own challenges. There were things that were beyond our control such as building permits, construction etc. that prevented us from opening as early as we would have liked. We lost a few partners along the way who didn’t think that the building would ever be ready to be occupied but the 3 of us kept our eyes on the prize. We used what we learned in the military (patience/“hurry up and wait” as well as “create your own way) to stay focused. We connected with the city council, local chambers and city officials to get information on the status of the plaza as well as pushing for answers on how we could help the process move faster. We also got information on what we could complete in the meantime as far as decor, our own permits, etc so we could be ahead of the game when the plaza finished. Finally, in just a few months, we were able to open!
How’d you meet your business partner?
As I mentioned before, there are 3 owners-myself, my husband and my best friend. I met my best friend 17 years ago while serving in the US Air Force. Our connection was instant and has been unwavering after all of these years. My husband and I have been married for 10 years. He is also active duty military serving in the US Air Force. I couldn’t ask for better life and business partners
