Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Molly MArtin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Molly, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
One of the most important lessons I have learned at a job is the importance of boundaries and rest. Especially in the mental health field, it’s easy to overextend yourself with taking on too many clients, skipping breaks, or carrying emotional weight outside of sessions. Early on, I learned that constantly pushing myself without rest didn’t make me a better clinician, it actually led to feeling depleted and less present. I started being intentional about setting boundaries with my time, protecting space to rest, and allowing myself to disconnect when needed. I’ve found that when I take care of myself, I show up more grounded, patient, and effective for the people I support.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello! My name is Molly. I am a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Georgia, where I’ve lived for most of my life. I’ve been drawn to the field of psychology ever since my first psychology class in high school. I was fascinated by human behavior, why we think, feel, and relate the way we do, and I knew early on that I wanted to help people understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and recently completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through a range of emotional experiences, especially those navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, and life transitions. I’ve also completed advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is one of the most research-supported approaches for treating trauma and PTSD.
In my work, I hold space for people to show up as they are. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to deeply empathize with clients and tune into what may not be explicitly said. I offer a warm, validating, and non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood.
What I want all of my clients to know is that they don’t have to have it all figured out to begin healing. Wherever you are in your journey, you are worthy of support, and I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, presence, and curiosity.
What sets me apart is my trauma-informed approach, paired with genuine human connection. I truly believe that the therapeutic relationship itself can be healing, and that small, consistent moments of safety and care can create real, lasting change. I’m most proud of the work I’ve done with clients who once felt stuck or overwhelmed, and who now feel more empowered, self-aware, and grounded in themselves.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What has helped me build my reputation within my market is consistently investing in relationships with other therapists and clinicians in my area. I make it a priority to connect, collaborate, and show up in community spaces, whether that’s through peer consultation groups, trainings, or simply reaching out to others to build genuine professional relationships.
Taking the time to network authentically has allowed others to get to know me, my approach, and the kind of clients I support best. In turn, this has helped generate word-of-mouth referrals and build trust within the community. In my experience, one of the most effective ways to grow your presence, both with clinicians and potential clients, is by showing up with consistency, openness, and a willingness to support others.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes, absolutely! I would choose this path again without hesitation. I feel fortunate that I discovered my passion early on and had the drive to pursue it. From the beginning, I’ve been committed to helping others live more fulfilling, meaningful lives, and that purpose continues to guide me every day. While the journey hasn’t always been easy, I truly can’t imagine doing anything else.
