We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexa Springman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexa below.
Alright, Alexa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most close to home project I have worked on so far was my EP “The Other Side of the Screen”. I made it during my last year of high school and it sums up all of the feelings I was feeling at the time growing up and looking to the future. I can admit it’s not a masterpiece but I never said I was… just like myself I think it is a work in progress.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello! I’m Alexa Springman. It’s super easy to remember my name now that Amazon decided to turn me into an everyday house robot.
I am an actor and comedian based in New York City. I always knew I wanted to be an actor because I wanted to make people happy. I realized over time that I could cheer people up with silly jokes and characters.
After high school I chose to train at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. I learned a lot about myself and my craft at this time. The work I learned at the academy taught me how to listen to my scene partners and also listen to my instrument (myself).
I am most proud of my big jump into the stand up comedy scene so far. It is a crazy world out there but I just had to jump into the deep end. I’ve had the opportunity to perform on some of my dream stages so far throughout the city and meet so many hilarious comedians. The brand that I try to push is “a muppet of a women” as I have the crazy absurd energy of the muppets but at the end of the day can come down to reality and be a “normal person”

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I just had a major stunt in the hospital. I had a 3rd degree burn on my neck that needed some surgery’s to keep me functioning and fashionable. This whole episode left me out of work for 2 months and in the hospital for one month. I started to feel like my career and life was fading from reality till one day it clicked that I had to step up. I shifted my time to looking for my next steps once I was better. I planned my return to the comedy scene and haven’t stopped hustling since.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started my socials at a very young age. I was obsessed with 2014 era YouTubers when I was young. I did find it very difficult to be myself online… what if people didn’t like me or what if I was bullied? Then, I was and realized I was still going to be me no matter what anyone said. Now my content is stuff that makes me smile and if I have an audience join in on the fun then it is a good day!
