Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kayleigh Denner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kayleigh, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Kaydot Studio was born from a DIY spirit. I didn’t come up through a boundaried agency or design school—I figured it out as I went, sparked by late-night passion projects and a love for creative expression. That heart-first energy still runs through everything I do today. Instead of handing my clients something off the shelf—I want to co-create something with them that’s full of color, character, and intention.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I created Kaydot Studio to bring a little more curiosity, play, and personality into the design world ✨ I specialize in creating functional, one-of-a-kind websites and crafting indie-inspired branding that feels as fun as the people behind it. Whether you’re launching a new idea, reimagining your visual identity, or just want a site that actually feels like you, I’m your person. I love collaboration, aiming to create something that you feel proud of. I believe good design doesn’t have to be serious to be powerful. My style is optimistic, colorful and joyous.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative — especially as a web designer — is collaborating with other creatives. I craft digital spaces that feel like home for the people behind them. There’s something deeply satisfying about taking a vision that’s been living in someone’s head or scribbled down on paper and turning it into something real, functional, and aesthetically just right. I love sitting in that creative synergy, learning from different perspectives, and building something that none of us could’ve made on our own. It keeps me inspired, grounded, and constantly growing.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Getting to where I am now wasn’t a straight path (luckily!) — it was more like a winding road with lots of detours along the way. I didn’t go to college so I spent a lot of my 20’s experimenting and traveling, questioning where I would land, but I always knew I wanted to make things. For years I worked in coffee shops while illustrating for small brands and saying yes to DIY creative projects that lit me up, even if they weren’t big or flashy. I taught myself design bit by bit—Googling, experimenting, messing up, trying again. The big shift happened when I took the iLoveCreatives Squarespace Design Course (an amazing resource for creatives!) and totally fell in love with the world of web design, and later digging deep into coding. From there, I built my own little corner of the internet and it’s been growing ever since. Everything I’ve learned has come from staying curious, being open to taking the scenic route, and trusting that it’s okay to figure it out as you go.
