I designed my own labels and business cards to represent my business. I purchased an apron, tote bag, tee shirt, tablecloth and had them embroidered with Cakes By Cheryl, my business logo.
I created a poundcake cupcake with a variety of flavors and toppings.
I also paired my poundcake with other Desserts to create Specialty Desserts.


Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a Self Taught Baker. I never took any classes to bake or design cakes. I have been baking cakes since the age of 20. I started a Cake Business 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. I was scared and nervous because I was stepping out on Faith and out of my comfort zone to start a business for first time in my life. I was encouraged by a close friend to sell my pound cakes.
I stared with no money as time went on I did events and pop up shops to showcase my business. I began to purchase supplies for my business.
It made me feel Honored and Grateful when people said they enjoyed my cake that someone else shared with them. Even though my Cakes are “A cake that you don’t want share”
I was featured on Fox 45 News at an event 2021
I supplied Desserts for Noir Restaurant and Lounge. 2022
I met the Mayor Brandon Scott at a Juneteenth Event. 2021
I was Featured In Voyage Baltimore Magazine 2022
My desserts are baked from scratch with love, detail, and attention. Because it represents my brand. Presentation is very important to me.


Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have recently been diagnosed with mild Arthritis. So I am unable to be on feet for long periods of time. I have to prepare and have good time management and rest to Bake Delicious Desserts. I was unsure if I still wanted to Continue to Bake because of challenges but my Clients would not let me because they say it is my passion. I love to bake so I put lots of love and attention in my Beautiful Delicious Desserts. My Clients love my baked from scratch Desserts.
