We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Audrey Rose a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Audrey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
As a Registered Nurse, I really took on a lot of work – always the people pleaser, working hard under pressure. During the pandemic, I took on the role of a lead nurse on our COVID 19 unit. It was stressful. Patients were sick, I was in charge of helping the bedside nurses to provide the best possible care while also juggling the communication with our doctors, social workers, and other team members. It was a stressful time – holding up ipads to help families say goodby to their loved ones through FaceTime (no visitors were allowed), staying on top of constantly changing policies, you name it.
Over time, I realized my nervous system was getting more and more overwhelmed. I could show up at work and respond to all the alarms, do all the things, but then when I got home I would be totally out of it. Not just exhausted, but disconnected, numb, and out of it – like I was watching life happen to me but not fully engaged. I wasn’t happy at all. I missed that happier version of me who felt like she was actually LIVING her life.
I learned that I was in a state called functional freeze. Where my nervous system was so used to the chronic stress and constant need to be in fight or flight mode, that it was just trying to conserve energy. I began learning how to heal this through many different somatic techniques.
I went on my own little Eat, Pray, Love journey. I attended sound baths in lavender fields, breathwork circles, tried Kundalini Yoga, full moon ceremonies, and slowly found myself on a spiritual path that helped me remember who I really was. I studied ancient texts, explored sacred traditions, and uncovered a connection to something sacred — and the sense that maybe I hadn’t been broken after all. And eventually — I felt happy again. Not because I changed who I was, but because I could finally feel like me again.
The tools that truly helped me the most were sound baths, EFT, and Breathwork, which I would practice religiously.
That journey led me to get certified in the tools that helped me the most.
And now, I guide other high-achieving women through the same transformation — through retreats, the Ready To Rise Podcast, free classes, and my signature membership, The RISE Sisterhood.
Because this isn’t just my story — it’s the quiet story of so many successful women silently wondering:
“Why doesn’t this feel like enough? – Where did my happiness go?” – And I want women to know that with somatic healing / nervous system regulation, you can get it back.

Audrey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I now combine my clinical expertise with somatic healing tools inside a virtual membership where you can login monthly to practice the somatic healing tools that are proven to reduce stress and overwhelm. Every month inside the RISE Sisterhood, we explore a new theme—like “The Magnetic Self” or “Strength in Relationships”—designed to support your nervous system healing and personal growth. You’ll receive guided practices like EFT tapping, sound healing, and breathwork—all designed to help you shift emotionally, regulate your body, and integrate the theme in a real, grounded way. So by the end of each month, you’re not just thinking differently—you’re feeling like a new version of yourself: calmer, more confident, and finally plugged back into your joy.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Hustling doesn’t make you “stronger”. I never believed it before my deep burnout. For most of my life, I thought hustling harder was the answer. I believed strength meant pushing through, proving I could carry it all, and never letting anyone see me crack. But that kind of strength left me burned out, numb, and disconnected from myself. It took me reaching a breaking point to realize that constant overdrive wasn’t power—it was chronic stress. And the truth is, the strongest thing you can do is learn how to come back to yourself.
That shift didn’t happen through more discipline. It happened through nervous system regulation. When I learned how to work with my body instead of against it, everything changed. I got more done with less stress. I stopped procrastinating. I showed up more fully—not because I pushed harder, but because I felt safe, clear, and grounded. This is what we practice inside the RISE Sisterhood. RISE stands for Reconnect with your Illuminated, Soulful, and Elevated self—because that’s what this is really about. You weren’t put on this planet—after 4 billion years of human evolution—just to live an anxious, disconnected life. You were meant to feel alive. To rise into joy. And that starts with your nervous system.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back, I would absolutely choose this path again.
Building Ready to Rise has been one of the most aligned, purpose-filled decisions of my life. It hasn’t always been easy—but it’s been healing, expansive, and deeply meaningful. I get to blend science and spirituality, my background in nursing with the world of somatic healing, and help women not just feel better—but come back to life.
Every retreat, every session, every story reminds me: this is the work I was meant to do. And I truly believe that when we as entrepreneurs do the inner work—regulate our nervous systems, reconnect with our joy, and rise into who we really are—our lives and businesses transform.
So yes. A thousand times, yes. I’d choose this work again.
