We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sauntymia Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sauntymia below.
Hi Sauntymia, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My husband and I are both R&B music lovers. We love a night out on the town where we can find good music, good vibes and good food. But there’s a catch — we’re in Fort Worth and our idea of fun is usually hosted in Dallas. Thus Artistry Soul Collective was born! Our mission is not only to curate events in Fort Worth that highlight local R&B artists but also to provide these artists the opportunity to share their stories and inspiration! We want to ensure we provide them with community that sets them up for success.

Sauntymia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My father was a musician and minister of music at every church I attended growing up. He sang and played the keys/organ, drums and bass guitar. He wrote plenty of songs and played in a band in lounges as well. All self-taught and at an early age. While that gift is not in my DNA, music has always been a huge part of my life. Like I mentioned before, my husband loves music just as much as I do and we enjoy hosting events with our friends; creating our own playlists. So transitioning to curating events for the public came naturally. What sets us apart is our passion to serve everyone we collaborate with: artists, engineers, venue owners, caterers, the list continues. It is most important to us that every individual that helps make our vision come to life knows that we value the work they put in.

How did you build your audience on social media?
The main piece of advice I can give you is to be authentically yourself and to find your niche. It is important to analyze your numbers to see where you find the most engagement, but ultimately, continue to be you. Don’t get lost in the numbers. Write down your goals not only for numbers but how you’d like to make an impact with your audience. Make sure they’re measurable, and write down how you will attain them. Master the skill of storytelling and grabbing the attention of your audience.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing your clientele is (fellow introverts, don’t hate me) NETWORKING! You have to get off the phone, off of the computer, out of the messages and into the real world where the people are (cue Little Mermaid). I am so grateful for each connection I’ve made by researching local networking events and attending.
