We were lucky to catch up with Claudia Carrea recently and have shared our conversation below.
Claudia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
defining moment in my career was when I taught a full group class, and someone told me after, “I feel stronger because of you.”
That moment made me realize — this isn’t just about workouts. It’s about helping people feel confident and capable.
From then on, I stopped trying to fit in and started showing up as myself. That’s when everything changed.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi! I’m Claudia Carrea — a personal trainer, movement coach, and strength advocate.
I started my fitness journey in my early 30s, not as a lifelong athlete, but as a woman looking for confidence, energy, and real strength. What began as a personal transformation quickly turned into a mission: to help others feel strong in their bodies and unstoppable in their lives.
Today, I coach functional strength with purpose and passion.
I specialize in kettlebell training, strength-based conditioning, and mobility — helping clients of all ages (especially midlife women) move better, feel better, and train in a way that supports real life. Whether it’s through personal sessions, group classes, or online coaching, my goal is to build strength that goes beyond the gym.
What sets me apart?
I bring science and soul to every session. I coach with joy, empathy, and zero judgment — because I know what it feels like to start from scratch. My approach is focused on longevity, confidence, and real results, not just aesthetics.
I’m most proud of building a community where people feel seen, supported, and celebrated for showing up, no matter where they’re starting from.
If you follow or work with me, know this:
I show up with heart. I train for life, not for looks. And I believe every person — at any age can build powerful, lasting strength.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
the beginning of my career, I had many doors closed on me because of my strong accent.
I was passionate, qualified, and committed — but time after time, I was underestimated or dismissed. People assumed I didn’t belong in the fitness industry simply because I didn’t sound like them.
But I kept showing up. I kept learning, training, improving my craft — and most importantly, I stayed true to myself. My accent, my background, my energy — all of it is part of who I am. And over time, I realized that what made me different was actually what made me powerful.
Now, I train people of all ages, lead packed classes, coach in two languages, and build real connections through movement. What once felt like a limitation has become one of my greatest strengths.
That experience taught me this:
Resilience isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being consistent, staying true to your voice, and showing up even when others don’t believe in you yet.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn: That I had to look a certain way to be respected as a coach.
At the beginning, I thought I needed to fit into a specific fitness “image” — super lean, perfect body, no flaws — to be taken seriously. But the truth is, the most powerful thing I bring to my clients is realness: a strong, capable body that moves with purpose, not for approval.
I had to unlearn that looks equal credibility — and relearn that knowledge, empathy, and consistency are what truly make a great coach.
